    摘要: An air scoop screen is used in the incoming end of an automotive air intake to prevent the ingestion of rocks or debris thrown up by preceding vehicles. A rectangular fiberglass screen is folded outward along its edges to form a rectangular screen with rectangular edges about 90 degrees to the screen body. Rigid reinforcements may be placed inside the edges and secured to a Velcro fastener and to the screen edges to assist in maintaining the rectangular shape. A hook-type Velcro fastener is bonded to the inside of the intake scoop near its front end. The screen is inserted in the air scoop and, with the fingers on the inside of the edges, the Velcro fastener attached to the screen is pressed into the Velcro fastener bonded on the inside of the air scoop.

    摘要: A bellows-type spring seal has a flexible bellows with an upper sealing end adapted to mate with a bell housing of an air intake pipe. The seal provides an effective breakaway joint when the cab is tilted forward from over the engine. A means, such as coil springs, encircles the bellows to push upon the underside of the sealing end of the bellows to provide a positive preload sealing force. The seal is self-aligning in the vertical and horizontal planes to accommodate cab rocking and minor misalignment in manufacture of the truck.

    摘要: A system for ventilating the bilge of a closed boat which is powered by a confined inboard gasoline engine having a down draft carburetor. Engine air is supplied by a dual air source formed by a first fluid passage conduit extending from approximate floor level in the bilge to the air inlet of the carburetor and a second fluid passage conduit extending from the second fluid passage through an engine compartment wall isolating the engine from open atmosphere. A valve is located in the second fluid passage to close normally that passage when fluid flow occurs in the first passage. The valve opens to draw air from open atmosphere through the second passage in response to an obstruction in the first fluid passage. Accordingly, the bilge supplies engine aspirating air until the bilge is flooded by water, for example, and then engine air is supplied by open atmosphere.
