    摘要: Technical solutions are described for measuring fuel injection to an engine of a vehicle. For example, an engine control unit (ECU) that controls the operation of the engine, is equipped with a first direct memory address channel to store rail pressure values that are received from the engine in a first buffer. The ECU further includes a second direct memory address channel configured to copy a first subset of the rail pressure value from the first buffer to a filter module in response to an angle-based interrupt request. The ECU further includes a third direct memory address channel configured to copy filtered pressure values from the filter module to a second buffer. The ECU also includes a processor that computes a pressure drop based on the filtered pressure values from the second buffer, and compute a quantity of fuel injected into the engine based on the pressure drop.

    摘要: A method and system to distribute high-power laser pulses to create sparks in individual cylinders of a multi-cylinder engine are provided. A laser provides laser output pulses. A distributor includes a linear array of mirrors with a respective mirror associated with one of the laser plugs. Each mirror is operatively controlled to move into a laser beam path to direct individual laser output pulses the associated laser plug for providing spark generation. The system enables correct cylinder firing order for predefined multi-cylinder firing sequences and allows for individual cylinder timing variation.

    摘要: An intake and exhaust system for a dual mode HCCI engine, which provides superior intake temperature control and homogeneity for engine operation in SI and HCCI modes, as well as during transition between SI and HCCI modes and vice-versa. The system includes adjusted intake cam movement event lengths for intake valve operation at specified modes of operation. The system further includes at least one cam profile switching device operatively connected to intake and exhaust valves in an engine for controlling event length, maximum lift, and valve opening/closing timings for the intake and exhaust valves. The system yet further includes a bifurcated intake system and camless valve actuators for controlling intake valves for facilitating operation in SI or HCCI modes, as well as transition between SI and HCCI modes and vice-versa.

    摘要: A system is described to detect methane gas at oil well and natural gas well sites that will generate a warning signal when a first, lower concentration of methane gas is detected and will generate a second signal when a higher, more dangerous level of methane gas is detected. A methane monitoring control and sensor device is mounted within the environment of an internal combustion engine and is used to detect the concentration levels of methane gas and to generate two signals. A first signal will generate a warning, and a second signal will affect engine shutdown by means of a compressed air operated valve closing the air intake to the engine.

    摘要: The present invention is a catalytic ignition engine (10) having a catalytic hot plug (14) mounted therein for 24 alcohol fuel. The hot plug (28) comprises a base material (32) coated at least partially with a catalyst (34), preferably platinum, and mounted on the top of the piston (18). The hot plug (11) is heated by combustion and is mounted on a support member (30) designed to reduce heat transfer from the hot plug (11) to piston (18). Consequently, the hot plug (11) remains at a temperature sufficiently high to cause ignition of alcohol fuel when the fuel is sprayed into the cylinder bore (14).

    摘要: This re-combustion control means for an alcohol engine comprises intake and exhaust valves designed to be opened or closed by virtue of magnetic force that are disposed, respectively, in intake and exhaust ports of cylinders, control valves designed to be opened or closed by virtue of magnetic force that are disposed, respectively, in combustion gas ports communicating with each other via a combustion gas passageway, sensors for detecting a state in which the engine is operated, and a controller for controlling the supply of combustion gas from predetermined cylinders to the other cylinders via the combustion gas passageway in response to a detection signal detected by the sensors. In response to a signal informing that the engine is under partial load, the exhaust valves of the predetermined cylinders are maintained in a closed state with the control valves thereof being operated so as to be opened or closed, while the intake valves of the other cylinders are maintained in a closed state with the control valves thereof being operated so as to be opened or closed so that combustion gas produced in the predetermined cylinders is taken into the cylinders and is re-burned therein for complete combustion, the discharge of unburnt aldehyde or the like being thereby prevented.
