Abstract: A method of automatically tracking urine in a toilet includes creating a background image of an interior of a toilet bowl using an image sensor, wherein the background image shows the interior of the toilet bowl. The method also includes acquiring an image of the interior of the toilet bowl using the image sensor, wherein the acquired image shows urine and a collecting and tracing member in the interior of the toilet bowl. The method further includes producing a difference image that shows a difference between the acquired image and the background image, and processing the difference image to identify a location of the urine and the collecting and tracking member, and moving the collecting and tracking member to the identified location of the urine.

Abstract: Methods and devices are provided for sweat inducement, which is useful in diagnostics, such as diagnosis of cystic fibrosis in a patient. The method includes applying a microneedle patch, which comprises microneedles which comprise pilocarpine or another sweat-inducing agent, to the skin of the patient effective to cause the microneedles to penetrate across the epidermis and into the dermis releasing the pilocarpine or another sweat-inducing agent into the skin in an amount effective to induce secretion of sweat from the skin. The secreted sweat can be collected and analyzed, for example by measuring chloride concentration in the sweat, which may be indicative of cystic fibrosis.

Abstract: A specimen collection container having a separation chamber includes a first chamber, a second chamber, and a valve located between the first chamber and the second chamber. In an open position, the valve permits fluid communication between the first chamber and the second chamber. In a closed position, the valve maintains fluid isolation between the first chamber and the second chamber. A fluid stream passes from the first chamber to the second chamber through the valve permitting a predetermined volume of fluid to pass from the first chamber to the second chamber. When the predetermined volume of fluid passes to the second chamber, the valve transitions from the open position to the closed position so that additional fluid of the fluid stream received by the first chamber is maintained in the first chamber in fluid isolation from the predetermined volume of fluid contained in the second chamber.

Abstract: A process and an activation device (30) provides a user (B) activation of a drug measuring device (100). This drug measuring device includes an input unit (3), a testing unit (6) for testing given samples and an image recording device (12). The activation device (30) receives an activation image set (InB), which was generated by the drug measuring device or by a drug measuring device and at least one image (40, 40.1) from the image recording device. The received activation image set is checked as to meeting a predefined release criterion. For this the activation image set is compared with a predefined reference image set (35) for the user. If the release criterion is met, the drug measuring device is released for the user. An activation data set (32) for the user is completed by at least one image of the activation image set, which shows the user.
