    摘要: Methods of using a mixture as a corrosion inhibitor, moisture scavenger, formaldehyde scavenger, rheological modifier, thermoplastic foam inhibitor, antifreezing agent, decolorizing agent, drying agent and corrosion inhibitor are provided by the present invention. The mixture comprises an aldimine oxazolidine compound having the formula: ##STR1## wherein: R.sub.1, R.sub.2, R.sub.3, R.sub.4, R.sub.5, R.sub.6, R.sub.7 and R.sub.8 are, individually, a hydrogen atom, a methyl or methylol group, an ethyl or ethylol group, a straight chain or branched chain alkyl or alkanol group, a cycloalkyl group, or an aryl group, including any of the above groups substituted by nitro, halogen, thiol and amino functional groups, such that when R.sub.5, R.sub.6, R.sub.7 and R.sub.8 are hydrogen atoms, R.sub.3 and R.sub.4 are not hydrogen atoms, further, R.sub.7 and R.sub.8 cannot simultaneously be hydrogen atoms; m and n are integers of one to three, and m+n is between two and four; and X is a covalent bond between the nitrogen atom of the aldimine group and the nitrogen atom of the oxazolidine group or an (m+n)-valent methylene group, ethylene group, straight chain or branched chain alkylene group, cycloalkylene group, or arylene group, including any of the above X groups substituted by nitro, halogen, thiol and amino functional groups.

    摘要: A high-solubility and high-adhesion poly(amide-imide-ester) resin prepared from a monomer composition comprising: (a) a diisocyanate such as diphenylmethane 4,4'diisocyanate; (b) a trimellitic anhydride; and (c) a bis-anhydride of trimellitic anhydride such as 1,2 bis(trimellitate)ethane dianhydride, dissolved in an appropriate solvent system. Each of the trimellitic anhydride and the bisanhydride of trimellitic anhydride constitutes 1 to 40%, on a molar basis, of the monomer composition and the amount of the diisocyanate is about 1.0 to 1.2 times, also on a molar basis, the sum of the trimellitic anhydride and the bis-anhydride of trimellitic anhydride. In an alternate embodiment, a fourth component (d) diacid such as isophthalic acid can be added to the monomer composition. After the polymerization reaction, the poly(amide-imide-ester) resin so produced can be diluted with a variety of organic solvents, such as xylene and dimethylacetamide, etc., and directly coated onto a copper foil to make polymer/metal laminates without going through an intermediate step involving polyamic acid.

    摘要: Substantially closed-cell rigid foams containing urethane, urea and biuret groups are produced by reacting an NCO terminated prepolymer with a compound having at least two isocyanate-reactive hydrogen atoms and a molecular weight of from about 400 to about 10,000 in the presence of a catalyst and water by any of the known techniques. The NCO terminated prepolymer is the reaction product of x parts by weight of an at least difunctional polyol having an OH value of less than 100 with y parts by weight of an at least difunctional polyisocyanate. The ratio of x to y is at least 1:10. The product foams are particularly useful as insulating materials.

    摘要: The strength and integrity of hydrophilic polyurethane resins prepared by reacting a diol component, an organic chain extender and an organic diisocyanate are improved by critical selection of the diol component, the amount of water in the reaction mixture and the mole ratios of the reactants. The diol component is at least one of (1) a long chain poly(oxyethylene) glycol of molecular weight above 2500 and (2) a medium chain poly(oxyethylene) glycol or polyester glycol of 250-2500 molecular weight. The chain extender is a difunctional compound having a molecular weight of less than 250. The amount of water in the reaction mixture is 0.5 to 2.5 weight % and the urea content of the resins is from about 13.6 to 33.7 weight %. This invention also includes uses of these hydrophilic polyurethane resins as carrier vehicles for various active agents including a medicament, fungicide, pesticide, insecticide, fertilizer, fragrance, flavor, sun-screen, depilatory, cosmetic, contraceptive, anti-fogging agent, hair spray formulation and perfume.
