    摘要: A molding strip assembly comprising linear edge pieces adapted to form a structure for holding the edge of a flexible material. The edge pieces may be configured in a framework so that the material covers a desired support surface. One edge piece is a molding strip that has a mounting base and upwardly extending connecting wall and a raised support wall in spaced parallel relation to the base. A lip extends upwardly from the base, spaced from the connecting wall, and a retaining wall extends upwardly from the base between the lip and the connecting wall, and, with the connecting wall, forms a narrow groove. A mating locking member defines a moveable profile that is received by the molding element and has a top wall, a first, downwardly depending side wall that is positioned in the groove to trap the material edge therein, and a second downwardly depending side wall that has a locking structure configured to engage the lip of the molding element. A second locking structure may be formed between the groove and the first side wall. Cooperating, internal molding elements may be used within the framework and include second molding elements and second locking members that may simultaneously secure two edges of flexible material sections.

The housing is adapted having a row of elongate cavities profiled to facilitate top loading of contact members and bottom insertion of a plurality of conductors therein, whereupon depending insulation piercing portions of the contact members establish electrical engagement with the conductors. Each housing cavity is further profiled to accommodate a downward deflection of spring arm portions of the contact members, and the housing provides integral interior surfaces to support said contact upon deflection of the contact spring arms.

    摘要: The disclosure relates to a filter assembly securable in a panel by driving the filter assembly into an aperture in the panel, the filter assembly automatically locking itself in the panel, yet being easily removable from the panel by means of a tool. This is accomplished by providing a ceramic filter encased within a body of non-resilient electrically conductive material having a drivable region, the body fitting within a tapered locking ring having fingers with internal diameter across the fingers smaller than the diameter of one section of the body, the fingers being driven outwardly by movement of the body thereagainst within the panel to lock the fingers on the panel. The body includes an enlarged flange portion which is utilized for driving the assembly into the panel as well as to lock the assembly in the panel in conjunction with the fingers. The assembly is removed by means of a tool returning the fingers to the pre-locking position.

    摘要: A plurality of electrically conducting socket-type terminals are provided on a common carrier strip. The sockets comprise sleeves of conducting material which contain a resiliently expansible receptacle which forms a female terminal. Each receptacle is freely expansible internally of a corresponding sleeve. This is accomplished by providing a pair of opposed spring arms of the receptacle which are free to deflect resiliently toward and away from each other internally of a corresponding sleeve. Positive connection between a corresponding sleeve and a receptacle is accomplished totally externally of the receptacle in order to prevent undue constraint of its resilient expansion. Such a connection is accomplished by providing a tab integral with a non-deflectable portion of a receptacle, the tab projecting outwardly of the receptacle for connection to the enclosing sleeve. The free ends of the spring arms protrude outwardly of the sleeve to provide an enlarged flared entryway to the receptacle. The free ends are also exposed to allow visual inspection of their correct alignment. The ends are further widened to provide relatively large target surfaces for receiving and funneling the male electrical terminal which is to be connected within the receptacle.

    摘要: A tap-type connection for a multi-conductor cable comprises a multi-contact connector disposed beside the cable. The wires from the cable extend laterally with respect to the cable axis and are connected to terminals on the rearward side of the connector. The wires extend from these terminals back to the axis of the cable and become part of the cable again. The tap is contained in a housing comprising two panel-like members hinged together clamshell fashion. The housing has inlet and outlet openings for the cable along one side and, in its closed condition, is assembled to the rearward side of the connector so that the laterally extending wires are contained in the housing.

    摘要: The invention relates to a miniature connector having a dielectric housing which is flexible for conforming to irregularities in the printed circuit board. A plurality of contacts are mounted in the housing. Each of the contacts includes a leaf spring portion in the form of a cantilever beam integral with the base portion and latched to the housing. The housing includes an opening at one end allowing for receipt of projecting posts mounted to a printed circuit board. When the housing is mounted on the surface of the printed circuit board the posts are electrically attached to the base portions of the contacts. The housing includes additional openings for pluggable receipt of male electrical terminals wedgingly engaged between the posts and leaf springs which cooperate to engage and grip the terminals.

    摘要: An electrical terminal structure is disclosed which is provided with a flow deposited quantity or band of solder adhered to a selected portion of the terminal and limited from spreading over the surface of the terminal by the presence of a soldernonwettable material adjacent to but not necessarily touching the terminal. A method of mounting the banded electrical terminals in plated apertures provided in a substrate is also disclosed, wherein the solder bands are applied to the terminals according to the above mentioned application technique. A technique of flattening the solder bands, and the resulting terminal structures having flattened solder bands adhered thereto are also disclosed. Flattening of the solder bands facilitates insertion of the banded terminals into the plated apertures by changing the shapes of the solder bands and by reducing their structural integrity though the creation of numerous hairline fractures.
