    摘要: The invention provides an improved method for the preparation of a porous ongy body of a metal or alloy having an open cell structure. The basic principle of the method is the pressurized casting of a melt of the metal or alloy with a preheated powder compact of an inorganic compound soluble in a solvent to fill up the pores and dissolving away the inorganic compound with a solvent after solidification of the melt. The improvement comprises forming interconnections bridging the particles in the powder compact and, different from conventional methods in which the preheating temperature is higher than the solidification temperature of the melt, preheating the powder compact at a temperature lower than the solidification temperature of the melt but higher than a critical preheating temperature defined as a function of the solidification temperature of the melt, latent heat of solidification of the melt, density of the metal or alloy, volume fraction of the inorganic compound in the powder compact under casting, specific heat of the inorganic compound and true density of the inorganic compound.

    摘要: The invention provides a novel method for firmly bonding a porous body, e a sintered body prepared by the powder metallurgical techniques with a metal powder, and a fusion-made body, e.g. an iron casting body, hitherto undertaken by the method of pressure welding or diffusion bonding. The inventive method utilizes the principle of infiltration and an infiltrater material is placed at the contacting portion between the porous body and the fusion-made body and heated at a temperature to exceed the melting point of the infiltrater material in vacuum so that the molten infiltrater material is infiltrated into the porous body leading to strong bonding upon solidification to have the porous body and the fusion-made body integrally bonded together.

    摘要: The invention presents a high-viscosity eye lotion with which lasting curve effects can be obtained with no feeling of foreign bodies to the eye as in the conventional eye salves used in treating eyes.The high-viscosity eye lotion of the invention comprises a swollen hydrated gel of a crosslinked polyvinyl alcohol and an eye-disease curative active ingredient contained therein. It is prepared by irradiating an aqueous solution of a polyvinyl alcohol with an ionizing radiation to such an extent that the polyvinyl alcohol is crosslinked to give a hydrated gel with an equilibrium swelling ratio in the range from 70 to 100 by weight and then dipping the hydrated gel in an aqueous solution of the eye-disease curative active agent.

    摘要: A process for the production of o-phenylphenol in the presence of a catal composed of a .gamma.-alumina or silica-alumina support having a BET surface area of 150 - 300 m.sup.2 /g, a pore capacity of 0.50 - 0.85 ml/g and an iron content of at most 0.1 % by weight in terms of Fe.sub.2 O.sub.3 and an alumina content of at least 90 %, the support carrying thereon platinum in an amount of 0.1 - 5.0 % by weight based on the support, iridium in an amount of 0.1 - 0.4 times that of the platinum and an alkali metal oxide in an amount of 0.5 - 8.0 % by weight of the support. o-Phenylphenol is prepared at a high selectivity over a long period of time by supplying onto the catalyst maintained at 300.degree. - 420.degree. C o-cyclohexylphenol or a dehydrodimerized condensate obtained by aldol condensation of cyclohexanone together with gaseous hydrogen in an amount per hour in terms of liquid volume of 0.1 - 1.5 times the volume of the catalyst, and elevating the reaction temperature stepwise or continuously with the lapse of the reaction time, while slowing down, if necessary, the rate of supplying the starting materials, to effect a dehydrogenation reaction.
