摘要: The present invention provides new light absorbing compositions suitable for use as an antireflective coating (“ARC”) with an overcoated resist layer. ARCs of the invention exhibit increased etch rates in standard plasma etchants. Preferred ARCs of invention have significantly increased oxygen content relative to prior compositions.

摘要: The invention relates to novel absorbable polyesters, produced by ring-opening polymerisation of hydroxycarboxylic acids in the presence of a polyol containing an electrolyte, in an extruder. In particular, the invention relates to novel polylactide glycolide polyesters which are essentially free of dextran sulphate and which are produced by ring-opening polymerisation of lactide and glycolide in the presence of dextran sulphate in the extruder; to the production of the same and to their use in depot medicaments.

摘要: A lightweight, highly reliable optical pickup including a singlet objective lens is offered by correcting coma aberrations which adversely affect properties of the objective lens having an increased NA. A convergent optical system is composed of a singlet objective lens with a NA of 0.75 or more and includes an aberration-correcting optical system which corrects coma aberrations due to an inclination or shift of central axes of both surfaces of the objective lens or an inclination of the objective lens or the optical storage medium to an optical axis of the optical pickup.

摘要: A display device of a multi-panel system is composed of plural liquid crystal panels which are jointed together by means of a bonding agent, and offers an image displayed on a large screen, wherein at least one edge portion of an end surface of a connected part of each liquid crystal panel is chamfered. According to the described arrangement, an internal stress generated by the curing shrinkage of the bonding agent at the chamfered portion is dispersed when joining the liquid crystal panels together, thereby preventing an occurrence of cracks at the edge portion. In this way, light scattering due to cracks at the joint between liquid crystal panels can be prevented. Accordingly, a liquid crystal display device of a large screen that offers excellent visibility in which a joint between liquid crystal panels does not stand out can be achieved.

摘要: The present invention is a method for calibrating the temperature of a cooking appliance. It has been discovered that the calibration can vary widely, depending on when during the heating cycle it is performed. In accordance with the principles of the invention, temperature calibration is judiciously performed only when the sensed temperature substantially tracks the actual or calibration temperature of the cooking medium, increasing both accuracy and consistency. Such tracking has been found to occur after the sensed temperature is falling or rising form a detected peak or valley, respectively, while the gradient of the temperature profile is substantially constant.

摘要: This invention relates to a novel metalloprotease having a proteolytic activity, its partial peptide or a salt either of them, a DNA coding for the protein, a recombinant vector comprising the DNA, a transformant carrying the recombinant vector, a process for producing the protein, a pharmaceutical composition comprising the DNA, an antibody against the protein, a method for screening for a compound which activates or inhibits a proteolytic activity of the protein, a kit for screening for the compound, and a compound which activates or inhibits a proteolytic activity of the protein which is identified by the screening method or the kit. The DNA coding for the protein of the present invention can be used as a therapeutic and prophylactic composition for a variety of diseases including diabetic nephropathy, glomerulonephritis, pulmonary fibrosis, hepatolienal fibrosis, hepatocirrhosis, osteopetrosis and herniated disk. Furthermore, the protein of the present invention is useful as a screening reagent for any compounds which activate or inhibit the function of the protein of the present invention. In addition, the antibody against the protein of the present invention specifically recognizes the protein of the present invention and can be used in the quantitative determination of the protein of the present invention in a test fluid.
