    摘要: Disclosed herein are methods and compositions for identifying morphogen analogs. The preferred methods and compositions relate to the discovery that morphogen upregulation of the mouse type X collagen promoter activity is mediated by a MEF-2 like sequence and requires an adjacent AP-1 sequence. Certain methods rest on the use of test cells comprising DNA defining a morphogen-responsive transcription activating element operatively associated with a reporter gene. Other methods rest on the use of DNAs for measuring morphogen-inducible DNA-binding. In certain preferred embodiments, the methods and DNAs involve an osteogenic protein 1 (OP-1) responsive transcription activating element. Substances that mediate interaction with and/or activate the OP-1 responsive transcription activating element are considered herein likely to be useful for reproducing in vivo effects of morphogens such as OP-1.

    摘要: Word line driver circuitry for selectively charging and discharging one or more word lines is provided. The driver circuitry uses a dual transistor topology, where a first transistor is driven by a signal, DOUT, and a second transistor is driven by a time-delayed complement of the DOUT, DOUT_BAR. The time delay prevents DOUT_BAR from changing its state immediately after DOUT changes state. As result, both the first and second transistors are turned ON at the same time for a predetermined of time. It is during this time that the voltage on the word line is rapidly driven to a LOW voltage. When the second transistor turns OFF, high impedance circuitry limits the flow of leakage current. This minimizes leakage current when the word line is OFF and when short circuit conditions are present between two or more word lines or between a word line and a bit line.

    摘要: The present invention makes available a method for inducing neuronal differentiation and preventing the death or degeneration of neuronal cells both in vitro and in vivo. The subject method stems from the unexpected finding that, contrary to traditional understanding of neural induction, the default fate of ectodermal tissue is neuronal rather than mesodermal and/or epidermal. In particular, it has been discovered that preventing or antagonizing a signaling pathway in a cell for a growth factor of the TGF-β family can result in neuronal differentiation of that cell.

    摘要: A hardware-to-software compiler is provided that runs an optimization on a circuit implemented in programmable logic. The optimization allows portions of the program implemented by the circuit to be executed via software. A communication interface between the hardware and software is provided that allows for efficient data flow. A communication channel is provided that can be effected as bidirectional using a unidirectional transport medium (e.g., PCI bus). Communication between devices is done through pop interface buffers and push interface buffers on either side of the communication channel.

    摘要: A replacement heart valve structure including a structure of tissue which is an intact, mammalian heart valve that has been harvested and treated to preserve it. A conventional fabric sleeve is typically disposed concentrically around the outside of the tissue structure. A support structure is included to facilitate implanting the heart valve by somewhat increasing the stability of the heart valve structure, but without unduly rigidifying it. An annular sewing cuff may be added adjacent the blood inflow end of the valve structure to facilitate making the annular suture line that is required at that end.
