摘要： The present invention provides nucleic acids containing transcriptional units that encode CYP1B1 polypeptides or portions thereof, wherein the transcriptional units lack sequences found in the untranslated region (UTR) of naturally occurring forms of the CYP1B1 transcript. The nucleic acids of the invention lack translational repressor elements and thus provide for a system of enhanced translation of the CYP1B1 polypeptide or portions thereof. Also disclosed are methods of administering nucleic acids to a mammal and use in the treatment of proliferative disorders or cancer.

摘要： A sample plate for a MALDI process is provided which comprises an electrically conductive substrate having a hydrophobic coating whose thickness and hydrophobic character can be modified by changing the coating substrate and/or the concentration of the substrate. Different coating substances that have provided optimal performance of the sample plate for reproducible deposition and analysis by MALDI-MS and MALDI-MS/MS processes of analyte mixtures include synthetic waxes such as paraffin compositions, lipids, organic acids, silicon-containing compounds, silica polymers and natural waxes. Metal polishes that have been used to clean and regenerate plate surfaces have also provided a sample plate that has optimal performance for reproducible deposition and analysis by MALDI-MS and MALDI-MS/MS processes of analyte mixtures.

摘要： A sample plate structure is provided including a retainer plate having a central opening, a sample insert plate which fits into the opening, an optional pressure plate and a handle. The handle applies pressure to the sample insert plate to retain it within the retainer plate. The sample insert plate is provided with a peripheral configuration, which assures that the sample insert plate is properly oriented within the sample plate support structure and is held flat. While the sample insert plate can be a consumable, the remaining portion of the apparatus can be reused.

摘要： A preseparation processor for use in capillary electrophoresis is described. The preseparation processor contains sample processing material, preferably in the form of a membrane, for use in concentrating or chemically processing a sample, or catalyzing a chemical reaction. It is particularly suited to the concentration of dilute samples or the purification of contaminated samples. The preseparation processor facilitates reliable and reproducible separation of analytes by eliminating inconsistencies caused by a reversal of the electroosmotic flow otherwise induced by the sample processing material.
