Abstract: Systems and methods are provided an include generating a depth map by performing depth estimation on an image having at least one wall, generating a first edge map that includes a first set of edge lines outlining the at least one wall by performing edge detection on the image, generating a second edge map that includes a second set of edge lines by performing edge detection on the depth map, generating a third edge map by thinning a width of each edge line in the first set of edge lines, generating a fourth edge map by performing a skeletonization function on the depth map, generating a final edge map based on the third edge map and the fourth edge map, generating a colorized image by applying color to the final edge map to paint the at least one wall, and displaying the colorized image on a display.

Abstract: A method for forming a benzophenone-containing emulsion is provided. The method includes a step of forming a pre-emulsion by combining a monomer composition with a benzophenone or a benzophenone derivative in water, the monomer composition including one or more monomers selected from the group consisting of (meth)acrylic acid monomers and (meth)acrylic monomers, vinyl acetate, aromatic monomers, vinyl neodecanoate, and combinations thereof. The pre-emulsion is polymerized by combining the pre-emulsion with a radical initiator in a reactor to form a reaction mixture that polymerizes to form an emulsion polymer. This procedure implements novel and easily polymerizable benzophenone (meth)acrylates) into the polymer backbone preventing them from leaching out of finished coatings. Advantageously, the benzophenone-containing emulsions can be used to form paint coatings with dirt pick-up resistance while maintaining the excellent flexibility of paint finishes to limit cracking of the final film.

Abstract: An emulsion composition includes an acrylic polymer, a metal silicate, and water. Advantageously, the emulsion composition provides coatings with superior adhesion of coatings to a concrete, clay, or ceramic substrate. In particular, the emulsion composition provides improved adhesion of the silicate primer to the concrete, clay, or ceramic substrate and strong cohesion between the primer and top coat paint allow for a much better overall performance. Abstract: Systems and methods for color selection are provided. A user device displays room types on a display, receives a room type selection indicating a particular room type, displays types of feelings, and receives a type of feeling selection indicating a particular type of feeling. The user device accesses a lookup table that associates the room types and types of feelings with paint colors such that each possible combination of room type and type of feeling is associated with a subset of paint colors. The user device determines the associated subset of paint colors in the lookup table for the combination of the particular room type and the particular type of feeling and displays the associated subset of paint colors as recommended paint colors for the combination of the particular room type and the particular type of feeling on the display of the user device.

Abstract: Systems and methods for color coordination for scanned products are provided. A kiosk has an input device, a display device, and an optical code reader. The kiosk has access to a product/color database. The kiosk is configured to receive an identification code scanned by the optical code reader, determine a flooring product associated with the identification code, determine at least one coordinating color for the flooring product based on the product/color database, display a simulated environment including a sample room having at least one selectable surface, display on the display device the at least one coordinating color, receive with the input device a selected color, receive with the input device a selected surface from the sample room, and display on the display device the simulated environment showing the sample room with the flooring product and with the selected color on the selected surface of the sample room.
