    Abstract: A method for increasing the organic carbon content of soil employing industrial wastewater and green manure crops comprises adding industrial wastewater containing cyclic phenolic substances or nitrogen compounds or a mixture of the above two kinds of industrial wastewater into the soil with the application of green manure crops to increase the organic carbon content of the soil and facilitate the humification thereby stabilizing the organic carbon in the soil.
