摘要: A sensor element is for detecting DNA single strands which are possibly contained in an analyte. The sensor element includes a substrate and at least two electrodes in and/or on the substrate. In a surface area of the substrate, catcher molecules are immobilized and are adapted to hybridize to DNA single strands that are possibly contained in an analyte. The DNA single strands include a label that has dielectric properties that are different from those of the analyte. The electrodes are coupled to a detection device for detecting a change in the capacitative portion of the impedance between the electrodes due to a label that is present in an area surrounding the electrodes as a result of the hybridization event.

摘要: In the case of a multiple semiconductor laser structure containing a plurality of laser pn junctions stacked vertically one on top of the other, different operating temperatures of the active zones occur during operation on account of the different distance within the layer structure from a common heat sink. The displacements in the emission wavelength caused by the temperature influence are compensated by a variation of the thickness and/or material composition of the active zones, so that a narrow wavelength distribution is achieved.

摘要: Device having a two-dimensionally formed support material which has, spread across at least one surface area, a plurality of pores which stretch throughout from one surface of the support material to the opposite surface, wherein the pores are bound in each case by a pore boundary area of pore walls formed in the support material along particular longitudinal axes of the pores, and at least part of the pore walls have at least in some sections a layered structure containing a first layer forming the pore boundary area and a second layer adjacent to the first layer and spaced apart from the pore boundary area, and wherein the refractive index nwaveguide of the first layer is greater than the refractive index n2 of the second layer.

摘要: A method for coupling a surface-oriented opto-electronic element, particularly, a VCSEL laser diode, an LED, or a photodiode, with an optical fiber and an opto-electronic element for carrying out such a method, the opto-electronic element having a rotationally symmetrical protruding structure disposed symmetrically with respect to the optically active zone of the opto-electronic element, includes the steps of wetting the butt of the fiber and/or the protruding structure of the opto-electronic element with a transparent adhesive, moving the opto-electronic element and/or the fiber toward each other such that a substantially frictionless movement of at least one of the element and fiber can occur, waiting for a self-centering of the fiber and the protruding portion; and waiting for or bringing about a hardening of the adhesive for purposes of fixing the now-centered configuration between the fiber and the protruding portion.
