摘要: Lithium metal powder based inks are provided. The inks are provided in formulations suitable for printing using a variety of printing techniques, including screen printing, offset litho printing, gravure printing, flexographic printing, pad printing and inkjet printing. The inks include lithium metal powder, a polymer binder and optionally electrically conductive materials and/or lithium salts in a solvent. The inks are well suited for use in printing electrodes for use in lithium metal batteries. Batteries made from lithium powder based anodes and electronic applications such as RFID labels, Smart Cards and wearable medical devices are also provided.

摘要: Improved battery packaging and constructions for batteries, particularly thin, flat-profile packaged batteries are provided. The battery packaging constructions may eliminate the need for soldering by providing current collector tabs coated by electrically conductive adhesive tape such as z-axis conductive tape and may provide support for current collector tabs and a regular battery perimeter by providing supportive battery packaging and/or frame materials. Better fabrication results, particularly when the batteries are used in smart cards, RFID tags, and medical devices.

摘要: A battery includes an anode, a cathode, and a polymer matrix electrolyte (PME) separator disposed between the anode and the cathode. The PME separator includes a polyimide, at least one lithium salt in a concentration of at least 0.5 moles of lithium per mole of imide ring provided by the polyimide, and at least one solvent intermixed. The PME is generally homogeneous as evidenced by its high level of optically clarity. The battery can be a lithium ion or lithium metal battery.

摘要: A portable apparatus for reforming plastic pipe ends is disclosed. The apparatus includes a heat sink clamp and depth collar for locating said clamp a predetermined distance from the end of the plastic pipe end. This heat sink clamp substantially limits axial heat penetration from an oven into the plastic pipe so as to permit the reshaping of the pipe end into a sanitary flow end, i.e. an end having imperfection-free contours.

摘要: An apparatus for depositing a coating on a substrate substantially eliminates the occurrence of oval defects by creating a heated tortuous path through which the source material vapors must travel before depositing on the substrate. In addition, shut-off valves for each of the source materials are positioned in the reaction chamber in close proximity to the substrate, thereby enabling layers of different compositions to be deposited with sharp transitions between adjacent layers. The apparatus may be used to efficiently coat large areas uniformly, and works equally well with either elemental or chemical source materials, or certain combinations of both. The features of the coating apparatus may be embodied in replacement source cells for retrofitting in conventional molecular beam and chemical beam epitaxy units.

摘要: Substrates such as semiconductor wafers are treated with a gas by advancing the substrate along a path, preferably a circular path through the gas while maintaining a face of the substrate transverse, preferably oblique, to the path so that the gas contacts be exposed from the face of the substrate. Preferably, a plurality of substrates are treated simultaneously, and the substrates serve as vanes to impel the gas into rotational motion, thereby pumping the gas through the process chamber. Preferably, the substrates are carried on susceptors having generally planar faces, the susceptors also serving as vanes impelling the gas into rotational motion. The gas may be a depositing gas for forming epitaxial layers on the faces of the substrates, or an etching gas.

摘要: An IC card includes at least one plastic layer, a battery and at least one electronic device embedded in the plastic layer. The battery is electrically connected to the electronic device for providing power to the device. The battery includes an anode, a cathode, and at least one polymer matrix electrolyte (PME) separator disposed between the anode and the cathode. The PME separator includes a polyimide, at least one lithium salt and at least one solvent all intermixed. The PME is substantially optically clear and stable against high temperature and pressure, such as processing conditions typically used in hot lamination processing or injection molding.
