Abstract: A system for includes master and sniffer devices. The master device includes: first antennas with different polarized axes; a transmitter transmitting a challenge signal via the first antennas from the vehicle to a slave device, where the slave device is a portable access device; and a receiver receiving a response signal in response to the challenge signal from the slave device. The sniffer device includes: second antennas with different polarized axes; and a receiver receiving, via the second antennas, the challenge signal from the transmitter and the response signal from the slave device. The sniffer device measures when the challenge signal and the response signal arrive at the sniffer device to provide arrival times. The master or sniffer device estimates at least one of a distance from the vehicle to the slave device or a location of the slave device relative to the vehicle based on the arrival times.

Abstract: An air circulation system configured to mount within a B-pillar, C-pillar, other pillar, or interior trim or cross trims through an air channel of a vehicle. The air circulation system includes a scroll within the pillar, which defines an inlet configured to receive inlet air from a vehicle cabin at the pillar. A fan within the pillar is configured to circulate the inlet air within the scroll. An elongated throat extending from the scroll is configured to receive forced air from the scroll. The throat defines a length and an outlet extending along the length, wherein the outlet delivers the forced air into the vehicle cabin from the pillar in an air stream. The outlet is configured such that the forced air delivered from the outlet creates a Coandă effect that attracts air in the vehicle cabin to move in the direction of the air stream.

Abstract: A reader includes a transceiver and a control module. The control module is configured to: perform an in-phase and quadrature phase capture of the notification messages based on fields in one or more of the notification messages, where the fields include a mobile de-whitened section including two or more series of consecutive bits, where the consecutive bits in each of the one or more series are all zeros or all ones; based on the in-phase and quadrature phase capture, determine an angle-of-arrival of the notification messages, and indicate the angle-of-arrival to the PaaK system for permitted access determined by the PaaK system.

Abstract: Systems and methods for localization and passive entry/passive start (PEPS) systems for vehicles are provided. A communication gateway in a vehicle configured to establish a Bluetooth low energy (BLE) communication connection with a portable device. Sensors are configured to measure signal information about a communication signal sent from the portable device. A localization module is configured to receive the signal information from the sensors and determine a location of the portable device based on the signal information. A passive entry/passive start (PEPS) system is configured to receive the location of the portable device from the localization module and perform a vehicle function including at least one of unlocking a door of the vehicle, unlocking a trunk of the vehicle, and allowing the vehicle to be started based on the location of the portable device. Each of the plurality of sensors are synchronized.

Abstract: Systems and methods for pessimistic offline reinforcement learning are described herein. In one example, a method for performing offline reinforcement learning determines when sampled states are out of distribution, assigns high probability weights to the sampled states that are out of distribution, generates a fitted Q-function by solving an optimization problem with a minimization term and a maximization term, estimates a Q-value using the fitted Q-function by estimating the overall expected reward assuming the agent is in the present state and performs a present action, and updates the policy according to an existing reinforcement learning algorithm. The minimization term penalizes an overall expected reward when a present state is out of distribution. The maximization term cancels the minimization term when the present state is an in-distribution state.
