Abstract:
Discovery of services between devices is provided prior to establishing a connection between devices, including wireless-enabled devices or devices that are communicatively coupled to wireless access points or other wireless communication devices. Discovering services prior to establishing a connection may facilitate finding a desired service. The services that may be discovered may be, for example, print services, camera services, PDA services or any other suitable services. Services may be discovered using 802.11, Bluetooth, UWB or any other suitable wireless technology. A graphical user interface is provided that enables a user to select a desired service.
Abstract:
A wireless mesh network enables multiple devices near each other to transmit simultaneously, thus allowing increased network bandwidth. Prior to transmitting, a device may determine various parameters of the wireless medium on which it desires to transmit. For example, the device may determine whether the intended recipient device is close enough, and verify that any other transmitting and receiving devices are far enough away. If these or any other suitable criteria are met, the device can transmit simultaneously with other devices in the vicinity.
Abstract:
An LED array includes a substrate, protrusions formed on a top surface of the substrate, and LEDs formed on the top surface of the substrate and located at a top of the protrusions. The LEDs are electrically connected with each other. Each LED includes a connecting layer, an n-type GaN layer, an active layer, and a p-type GaN layer formed on a top of the protrusions in sequence. A bottom surface of the n-type GaN layer connecting the connecting layer has a roughened exposed portion. The bottom surface of the n-type GaN layer has an N-face polarity.
Abstract:
Embodiments of the present invention provide a method for feeding back channel state information, and a method and a device for obtaining channel state information. The method for feeding back the channel state information includes: compressing, by a user equipment, original time domain channel state information to obtain compressed time domain channel state information; quantizing the compressed time domain channel state information to obtain a codebook index; and sending the codebook index to a base station. With the technical solutions provided by the embodiments of the present invention, the total overhead used for feeding back the channel state information from the user equipment to the base station is reduced.
Abstract:
A computer with a software defined radio that can be configured based on a wireless technology specification. The computer may negotiate with a second computer that also includes a software defined radio to define a set of wireless technology specifications and trigger events indicating when each of the wireless technology specifications is to be used. As the computers communicate, if a trigger event occurs, both computers may reconfigure their software defined radios using a different specification in the set. By appropriately defining the wireless technology specifications in the set and the trigger events, the computers can operate with configurations that allow communication despite events that might otherwise disrupt communication between the computers.
Abstract:

The probe includes a housing (130), an actuator (150) supported by the housing, and a single mode (146) fiber supported by the housing and configured to laterally scan light data reflected from a sample.
Abstract:
The normal roles of wireless stations and wireless access points in initiating the establishment of wireless connections may be reversed without the need for changes in the network interfaces for either the station or access point device. This capability may be used to allow wireless devices acting as access points, but on which service clients operate, to initiate the establishment of a connection with a station, on which a wireless service provider operates. Discovery of services between wireless devices can be provided prior to establishing a connection between the devices. A service client device providing access point functionality may broadcast an invitation for service advertisements and then receive service advertisements from relevant service providers acting as wireless stations. An information element may be included as part of periodically broadcast administrative messages to wirelessly convey an invitation for service advertisements. In response to a service advertisement, the access point may send to the wireless station an invitation to connect, prompting the wireless station to begin to establish a connection according to a wireless communication protocol.

Abstract:
An optical coherence tomography probe and laser combination device configured for real-time z-directional guidance of the incisional depth of a surgical procedure. It can be used alone or placed within the working channel of an endoscope. The device includes an OCT single mode fiber, and a laser fiber or laser hollow waveguide or electrical surgical wire positioned adjacent to the OCT single mode fiber. The single mode fiber is configured to move laterally when activated by an actuator to scan light data reflected from a sample that is positioned in front of a distal end of the device. The light data can be processed to generate a B-scan image. The device can collect data in real-time during lasing, or immediately prior to and following the cutting. The surgical tool, when coupled to a processor, can deactivate when the B-scan image identifies that the incision is within a predefined tolerance.
Abstract:
A method for fabricating a light emitting diode includes steps of: forming a light emitting structure of the light emitting diode on a substrate; arranging a photoresist layer on a first semiconductor layer of the light emitting structure; depositing a plurality of dielectric material structures on the first semiconductor layer through a plurality of voids of the photoresist layer; removing the photoresist layer to form a plurality of voids between the plurality of dielectric material structures; forming a plurality of metal material structures in the plurality of voids; and forming a reflective layer on the plurality of dielectric material structures and the plurality of metal material structures.
