    摘要： A method and system for dynamically selecting a destination gateway to complete a call over a path supported at least in part by an IP telephony network and a public switched telephone network. The method and system further provide for dynamically detecting available gateways, dynamically removing failed and/or unavailable gateways, and automatically recovering failed and/or unavailable gateways after a predetermined period of time. A method is also provided for detecting available destination gateways using a ping method, where a message is transmitted to a plurality of destination gateways on a one-by-one basis to ascertain the availability status of each destination gateway.

The method also includes: recording, at the first relay, subscription information of the first client based on the subscription request; receiving, at the first relay, a publication request from a second client, wherein the publication request includes a message string characterized by a pattern; determining, by the first relay, that the target matches at least a portion of the pattern; determining, by the first relay, if the publication request is a local publication request based on a predetermined policy rule; and transmitting the message string to the first client if the publication request is determined to be a local publication request.

    摘要： A method and system for providing intelligent network control services in IP telephony, wherein the system includes a location manager and an IP telephony proxy server. The location manager includes an interface to a legacy telephony service control entity and the IP telephony proxy server includes an IP interface to the location manager. If the IP telephony proxy server requires intelligent network services, then the IP telephony proxy server sends an IP telephony session initiation request to the called party at the location manager. The location manager uses the information to query the legacy telephony service control entity for routing information. When the location manager receives a routing response from the service control entity, the location manager maps the response to an IP telephony session control message back to the IP telephony proxy server.

    摘要： An illustrative intelligent network and method for providing voice telephony over Asynchronous Transfer Mode (“ATM”) and private address translation are provided that can provide significant advantages. The method includes generating an input ATM setup message at the calling party CPE that includes a VToA designator and a called party phone number, extracting information from the input ATM setup message such as the VToA designator and the called party phone number, analyzing the information, designating an ATM address of a called party CPE to be stored in the first parameter of an output ATM setup message, determining if private address translation is needed, designating the ATM address of the called party CPE to be stored in a first instance of the second parameter of the output ATM setup message, designating an ATM address of an egress ATM edge switch to be stored in the first parameter of the output ATM setup message, and generating an output ATM setup message. The method also includes extracting information from the output ATM setup message such as the ATM address of the called party CPE, designating the ATM address of the called party CPE that was stored in the first instance of the second parameter of the output ATM setup message to be stored in the first parameter of a destination ATM setup message, and generating a destination ATM setup message that includes the ATM address of the called party CPE stored in the first parameter and the called party phone number value stored in the second parameter. An illustrative intelligent network for providing VToA and private address translation is also provided.

    摘要： A system and method for improving database system reliability and availability and ensuring database consistency in multiple network database system sites, for example, home location register (HLR) sites of a wireless telecommunications network. There are a plurality of database system sites, each of which contains at least one complete copy of the entire database. The database is partitioned into multiple partitions, with each partition serviced by multiple database system sites with differing priority. The highest priority database system site which is available for each partition provides access and update service to the partition. In addition, the serving database system site sends update messages to the other database system sites, so that all copies of the partition are consistent. Update messages are sent on a deferred basis, so as to even out message traffic on the network.

    摘要： A method of performing update transactions in a database system to perserve consistent logical data states at all times. Each changeable data entry in the database is associated with an individual code field. When no update transaction is in progress, every code field is set to a first value. An update transaction is begun by changing a system state parameter from a NON-UPDATE to an UPDATE state. During the UPDATE state, the code fields of data entries to be added are marked with a second value and then inserted into the database. Code fields of entries to be deleted are marked with a third value. When this is complete, the system state parameter is set to a POST-UPDATE state. All code fields are then returned to the first value at which time the system is returned to the NON-UPDATE state. During the UPDATE state, all queries are given access to entries with first and third code field value. Conversely during the POST-UPDATE state, queries are allowed access only to entries with first and second code field values.
