A spherical spacer is provided for defining a gap dimension between substrates of a liquid crystal display. The K-value (hardness of a sphere) of the spherical spacer is defined as: ##EQU1## (wherein F and S represent a load value (kgf) and a compression displacement (mm) at 10% compression deformation of said fine sphere, respectively, and R represents a radius (mm) of said fine sphere) which is in the range of 250 kgf/mm.sup.2 to 700 kgf/mm.sup.2 at 20.degree. C.; and a recovery factor after the compression deformation which is in the range of 30% to 80% at 20.degree. C. A spherical spacer matching the newly found limitations and defining the gap between a pair of substrates into which liquid crystal is filled reduces the damage to an alignment coat when compared with spacers being too hard, and reduces quality deterioration of the image when compared with spacers being too soft.

A method for making conductive particles that efficiently permit a plated layer of uniform thickness to be formed over each of the particles without aggregating the particles in a plating liquid. The apparatus comprises: a disk-shaped bottom plate secured to the top part of a vertical drive shaft; a porous body arranged on the upper surface of the outer periphery of the bottom plate and allowing only the plating liquid to pass therethrough; a contact ring arranged on the upper surface of the porous body to conduct electricity; a hollow cover including a truncated cone cover with an opening at its upper central portion and a hollow cylinder of the same diameter as that of the opening attached to the upper end of the truncated cone cover, the upper end portion of the hollow cylinder being folded back on the inner wall side thereof; a rotatable processing chamber formed so as to hold the porous body and the contact ring between the outer periphery of the hollow cover and the bottom plate; a supply pipe to supply the plating liquid from the opening into the processing chamber; a container to receive the plating liquid scattered from the pores of the porous body; a discharge pipe to discharge the plating liquid collected in the container; and an electrode inserted from the opening to contact the plating liquid.

A resin composition comprising(a) a vinyl chloride/ethylene copolymer having an ethylene content in the range of 3 to 12% by weight, an average degree of polymerization in the range of 700 to 2900 and a ratio of weight average molecular weight to number average molecular weight in the range of from 2.5:1 to 5.5:1,(b) an ethylene/carbon monoxide/vinyl acetate copolymer, and(c) a glycerin ester of a specific epoxidized aliphatic carboxylic acid. This resin composition is suitable for making medical devices, especially bags for storing transfusion fluids, receptacles for storing blood, and tubes for a blood circuit in artificial kidneys.
