摘要: Methods and structure for redirecting writes in Redundant Array of Independent Disks (RAID) systems are provided. One exemplary embodiment is a RAID controller that includes a memory and a control unit. The memory is able to store mapping information that correlates Logical Block Addresses of a RAID volume with physical addresses of storage devices. The control unit is able to generate a request to write volume data to at least one of the physical addresses, to determine that a storage device has failed to complete the request, to alter the mapping information by correlating Logical Block Addresses for the request with physical addresses of a spare storage device, to redirect the request to the spare storage device, and to rebuild remaining Logical Block Addresses that are correlated with the storage device that failed.

摘要: An electronic non-volatile computer storage apparatus and methods for reducing decoder error floor for such a storage apparatus are disclosed. An analysis process it utilized to study one or more performance metrics of a decoder of the storage apparatus in order to determine various endurance points throughout the lifetime of that particular type of storage apparatus. Theses endurance points indicate when different scaling factors should be applied and/or when log-likelihood ratio should be re-measured to accommodate physical degradations over time.

摘要: In described embodiments, Linear Phase, Finite Impulse Response, filters incorporate a power complementarity property into a perfect reconstruction filter bank. Non-linear constraints for type A and type B filters are included in the Sequential Quadratic Programming design of the filters. An initial Quadrature Mirror Filter includes perfect reconstruction constraints, which might be optimized through iterative design techniques. Embodiments might be employed in noise reduction applications related to, for example, signal processing of images.

摘要: A method for system for dynamic channel Log Likelihood Ratio (LLR) quantization for a Solid State Drive (SSD) controller is a targeted approach to scaling which results in a scaled, quantized set of LLRs whose relative magnitude remains undisturbed from an original magnitude. The method reads a set of voltages from each channel of the SSD. The set of reads is configured in location and number for performance. Once a set is returned, the method determines an LLR for each of the voltages read resulting in a raw set of LLRs. Targeted scaling results in a scaled set of LLRs between an upper limit and a lower limit determined for reading by a decoder. Once scaled, the LLRs are rounded and quantized for use by the decoder to produce an Error Correction Code (ECC).

摘要: Methods and structure for preemptively terminating Serial Attached Small Computer System Interface connections are provided. One exemplary embodiment includes an expander comprising multiple physical links, switching circuitry able to establish connections between end devices coupled with the expander through the physical links, and a connection manager. The connection manager is able to process an Open Address Frame from an end device, and to determine that the Open Address Frame requests a connection through a physical link that is already servicing an established connection. The connection manager is further able to determine that the Open Address Frame requests a higher priority connection than the established connection, and to direct one of the end devices utilizing the established connection to terminate the established connection based on the higher priority.

摘要: An image processing system comprises an image processor having image processing circuitry and an associated memory. The image processor is configured to identify a region of interest in an amplitude image, to detect one or more relatively low gradient regions in the region of interest, to reconstruct depth information for said one or more relatively low gradient regions, to extend the reconstructed depth information beyond said one or more relatively low gradient regions to additional pixels of the region of interest, and to generate a depth image utilizing at least portions of the reconstructed depth information and the extended reconstructed depth information. The image processor in some embodiments is adapted for coupling to an active lighting image sensor, such as an infrared sensor that does not provide depth information corresponding to the amplitude image, or an SL or ToF sensor that provides depth information corresponding to the amplitude image.
