摘要: A nozzle chip (3) for ejecting a liquid such as in an electrospray device is built from a substrate chip having grooves (5, 7) on a top surface. A lid (25) is attached to the top surface closing the grooves to form channels one of which has an open outlet end (9). At the outlet end a nozzle is formed at or attached and it has an outlet opening from which the liquid is to be ejected. Alignment recesses (13, 15) are made at edges of the substrate chip and they are accurately positioned in relation to the outlet opening, the alignment recesses allowing an accurate mounting of nozzle chip giving the outlet opening of the nozzle a reproducible position in the device where it is to be used. At the outlet end a recess (17) in the substrate chip can be provided and the nozzle can then be located in the recess to mechanically protect it.

摘要: A method of producing a plastic product having a microstructured surface (3a), utilizing an arrangement for moulding plastic products. Said arrangement has at least two mould parts (2, 3) movable towards and away from each other, a predetermined volume of a viscous polymerizable plastic material (9) being supplied to a cavity formed between the mould parts, after which polymerization of the plastic material occurs. After said polymerization of the plastic material (9′), the mould parts are caused to move apart from each other thereby allowing removal of a finished plastic product the outer shape of which conforms to the shape of the cavity produced by the mould parts. Said viscous polymerizable plastic material (9) is supplied to the cavity (6) around a hole (10a) pertaining to the finished plastic product, and said viscous plastic material is distributed in a direction from said hole (10a) towards the peripheral edge area of the plastic product.

摘要: A power supply apparatus includes an AC input port, an output port, and a bypass circuit that couples the AC input port to the output port. An AC/DC converter circuit, e.g., a rectifier circuit, produces a DC voltage from an AC input voltage at the AC input port. A DC/AC converter circuit, e.g., a current mode controlled inverter, controls current transfer between the output port and the AC/DC converter circuit responsive to a control input such that respective first and second component currents of a current delivered to a load coupled to the output port pass via respective ones of the bypass circuit and the DC/AC converter circuit. The DC/AC converter circuit may be operated such that current passing through the bypass circuit is constrained to be substantially in phase with the AC input voltage. The power supply apparatus may have another mode of operation in which the DC/AC converter circuit exclusively provides power to the output port, and may include an auxiliary DC power supply circuit that provides a DC voltage to the DC/AC converter circuit. Related power supply methods are also discussed.

摘要: A method and a device for glueing together two disc elements. The two disc elements are brought together coaxially against each other to form a gap between the disc elements. In an inner area of the gap a liquid adhesive is applied so that it comes essentially simultaneously into contact with facing sides of the two disc elements. The two disc elements are then brought towards each other to achieve a uniform adhesive layer between the disc elements. The disc comprises lower and upper holders for respective disc elements and a unit for applying liquid adhesive in an inner area of the gap.

摘要: Replicated polymeric microstructures have been used in the fabrication of optofiber waveguide connections, with the intention of simplifying the production of such connections, and therewith greatly reduce manufacturing costs. Fabrication is commenced from a silicon chip in which there has been etched grooves whose cross-sectional shape has been adapted to accommodate waveguides, such as optofibers. Firstly, the silicon chip is replicated, by plating the silicon chip with nickel for instance. The replication then serves as a model for producing a plastic copy of the silicon chip. This method of manufacture is able to produce waveguide accommodating grooves (2), such as optofiber accommodating grooves, to a very high degree of accuracy. Furthermore, the method provides a high degree of freedom in the configuration of the grooves, and also enables branched grooves for receiving branched fibres to be produced. The waveguide connection can then be used with a waveguide, such as an optofiber, together with a light transmitter or light receiver.
