Abstract: Polymeric materials are disclosed herein that include a reaction product of components comprising: a) a first amine component having at least two and at most three primary amino groups, secondary amino groups, or a mixture thereof, with the proviso that the first amine component is not a silicone diamine; b) a second amine component having (i) greater than three primary amino groups, or (ii) at least three primary amino groups and a plurality of secondary amino groups, wherein the second amine component is a polymeric material having a carbon backbone or a polymeric material having a carbon backbone with a plurality of catenated nitrogen atoms; and c) an oxalate ester.

Abstract: A discontinuous silicone article is disclosed that includes a plurality of strands of radiation cured silicone gel arranged to form a net-like structure with openings between strands. The silicone gel provides adhesion to a surface, such as skin, and the openings provide for moisture transmission away from the surface. The discontinuous silicone article comprises at least one adhesive polymer strand and a plurality of joining strands. The adhesive polymer strands comprise a radiation cured silicone gel and each polymer strand repeatedly contacts an adjacent joining strand at bond regions.

Abstract: A system having a concealed communications element like a telecommunication antenna is described. More specifically, The system has a communications element that is concealed by a highly reflective multilayer polymer optical film 200. The first element of the multilayer polymer optical film is a core layer 202 that is made up of a multilayer optical stack. The multilayer optical stack of core layer 202 includes two alternating polymeric layers. The multilayer polymer optical film may optionally also include a protective layer 204 (for example, a hardcoat or an over laminate) that is positioned between the viewer and the core layer. The protective layer 204 may include one or more UV absorbers to aid in durability of the multilayer polymer optical film against UV-degradation. Multilayer polymer optical film 200 may optionally also include an adhesive layer 208 that is positioned between the core layer 202 and a surface onto which the multilayer polymer optical film is to be adhered.

Abstract: Articles are provided, including a porous elastomeric material having a first major surface and an elastomeric material integrated into the first major surface of the porous elastomeric material. The elastomeric material coating the first major surface, a first portion of the elastomeric material being disposed within a plurality of pores defined by the first major surface of the porous elastomeric material and extending into the plurality of pores to a depth of at least 300 micrometers (μm), wherein the first portion of the elastomeric material provides fluid communication through the porous elastomeric material via holes formed in the elastomeric material extending into the thickness of the porous elastomeric material through the voids of the pores of the elastomeric material. A method of making an article is also provided.

Abstract: A filtration media is disclosed comprising a hydrophobic monomer grafted onto a support, the hydrophobic monomer having the structure: CH2═CR4C(O)NHC(R1R1)(C(R1R1))nC(O)XR3 wherein n is an integer of 0 or 1; R1 is independently selected from at least one of: a hydrogen atom, alkyls, aryls, and alkylaryls, wherein the alkyls, aryls, and alkylaryls have a total of 10 carbon atoms or less; R3 is a hydrophobic group selected from at least one of: alkyls, aryls, alkylaryls and ethers, wherein the alkyls, aryls, alkylaryls and ethers have a total number of carbon atoms ranging from 4 to 30; R4 is H or CH3; X is O or NH. In some embodiments the hydrophobic monomer is derived from an amine or an alcohol (HXR3) that has a hydrophilicity index of 25 or less. Such media may be used in applications such as hydrophobic interaction chromatography.
