Abstract: Steam-hydrocarbon reforming reactor with a reformer tube containing ceramic-supported catalyst pellets and metal foam particles. The ceramic-supported catalyst pellets have a porous support comprising one or more of alumina, calcium aluminate, and magnesium aluminate. The metal foam particles comprise Fe and/or Ni. The ceramic-supported catalyst pellets and metal foam particles may be layered or interspersed.

Abstract: Process for producing a hydrogen-containing product and one or more liquid water products using catalytic steam-hydrocarbon reforming. In the process, a portion of the make-up water is heated by the reformate and another portion of the make-up water is heated by the combustion product gas prior to introducing the make-up water to a deaerator. Water in the combustion product gas is condensed to form a liquid water product. The process may be integrated with a thermal water desalination process.

Abstract: A burner apparatus (10) includes a fluid-based flame stabilizer for discharging a stabilized flame therefrom, a burner tile (44), and fuel lances associated with the burner tile. Each of the fuel lances has a discharge nozzle (40). A Coanda feature (34) having a Coanda surface directs a portion of the stabilized flame from the passage defined by the burner tile at the discharge end of a primary flow passage (32) toward at least one first fuel lance of the plurality of fuel lances to cross light the at least one first fuel lance. In another embodiment, a method of combustion includes supplying a first gaseous fuel to fuel lances of a burner apparatus and igniting and sustaining combustion of a gaseous fuel by cross lighting at the discharge nozzles of the fuel lances by flow from the fluid-based flame stabilizer along a Coanda surface of a Coanda feature toward the discharge nozzles.

An outer housing houses at least a portion of a rigid borescope. The outer housing has a port for aspirating ambient air through the outer housing to cool the rigid borescope and passing the air through a hole at the end of the outer housing and into the furnace. A camera is operatively connected to a rigid borescope but is located such that it is isolated from the air passing through the outer housing.
