    摘要： A recording and/or reproducing apparatus arranged to permit an interchange of record bearing media and selection between recording and reproducing modes of operation on the medium comprises look-up device for looking up the presence or absence of an existing record in each recording or reproducing position on the record bearing medium loaded on the apparatus, and control unit arranged to control the look-up device to cause it to perform a look-up action in response to opening of a lid for replacement of the record bearing medium and to cut off the power supply upon completion of the look-up action. The control unit thus lowers electric energy consumption and saves electric energy from being wasted by the look-up action.

    摘要： A recording apparatus comprises a recording head arranged to record signals on a recording medium; a motor for shifting a relative position between the recording medium and the recording head; and a control circuit arranged to apply electric energy to the motor in starting the motor either in a first mode in which the electric energy is limited to a first value or in a second mode in which the electric energy is limited to a second value which is lower than the first value. Also disclosed is a motor control circuit which is highly suited to the recording apparatus. Detecting apparatus is also included to detect whether the power source is an A.C. adapter or a battery.

    摘要： In order to select and designate the appropriate identification information when the multi image representing picture is recorded as a multi image onto a recording medium, a reproducing circuit 20 reproduces a recorded image at a designated track, its reproduced image is stored as a mini image for the representation of the multi image into a frame memory 24, and the ID signal for each reproduced image is stored in a memory 34. A recording circuit 32 records the multi image representing picture to be stored in the memory 24 as one still picture and records it in the recording medium. A system control circuit 22 reads only an ID signal of a track corresponding to the state of instructing means 36 or switching means 38 among the ID signals stored in the memory 34, and supplies other portions except for the field/frame and the track number to the recording circuit 32.
