Abstract:
This invention relates to the use of certain finely divided, stable and relatively low viscosity dispersions of polyisocyanate polyaddition products in compounds having hyroxyl groups. The dispersions are produced by reacting1. organic polyisocyanates with2. compounds having primary and/or secondary amino groups and/or primary hydroxyl groups in3. compounds having at least one hydroxyl group, whereinCompounds (3) have secondary hydroxyl groups in cases when compounds (2) have primary hydroxyl groups and wherein the components are reacted in the presence of more than 4% by weight of water, based on the quantity of reaction mixture including water.
Abstract:
The instant invention relates to the use of stable, relatively low viscosity dispersions of polyisocyanate-polyaddition products in hydroxyl containing compounds as dispersing agents in the preparation of polyurethane resins. The dispersions are made by a process which broadly comprises mixing an aqueous dispersion of an isocyanate-polyaddition product with a compound having at least two hydroxyl groups and having a boiling point about 100.degree. C, and thereafter at least partially distilling off the water.
Abstract:
This invention relates to solutions of polyisocyanate polyaddition products with a solids content of from 5 to 70% by weight ofA. Reaction products of(a) polyisocyanates,(b) hydrazines and/or polyamines and/or dihydrazides and/or ammonia and/or urea and/or low molecular weight polyols,(c) optionally higher molecular weight polyols and(d) optionally formaldehyde inB. polyhydric alcohols having a molecular weight of between 62 and 450.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to the production of polyurethane resins and foams from stable dispersions of ionic polyisocyanate-polyaddition products in a hydroxyl containing compound as dispersing agent which are formed by the process which comprises reacting:(1) organic polyisocyanate with(2) compounds having primary and/or secondary amino grops and/or primary hydroxyl groups in(3) compounds having at least one hydroxyl group,With the proviso that compounds (3) have secondary hydroxyl groups if compounds with primary hydroxyl groups are used as compound (2), and further characterized in that at least one of the components (1) or (2) has groups which are ionic and/or capable of salt formation.
Abstract:
Process for the production of microcapsule dispersions according to the polyaddition process, wherein an inert organic liquid is continuously mixed under strong turbulence with a polyisocyanate, insoluble therein, this mixture is emulsified in an aqueous phase as dispersed phase and the emulsion formed is continuously reacted with a polyamine.
Abstract:
A process for the production of aqueous suspensions containing from 35 to 60% by weight of microcapsules by interfacial polyaddition from polyisocyanates and H-active compounds, wherein(a) an isocyanaurate-modified aliphatic polyisocyanate is used as the polyisocyanate, and(b) the suspension is adjusted to a pH-value of .ltoreq.7 after the polyaddition reaction, which microcapsules optimally contain dye precursors and can be used for the production of completely or partly coated copying systems by the rotogravure or flexograph processes.
Abstract:
The instant invention relates to a process for producing modified polyisocyanates suitable for the production of hydrophilic foams, wherein an organic polyisocyanate is heat treated with a water-containing, organic sulphonic acid at a specified molar ratio and for a specified time. The invention further relates to the use of such modified polyisocyanates in producing a hydrophilic polyurethane foam.
