The processor is configured to estimate, based on the signals exchanged with the probe, a spatial displacement of the magnetic sensor between consecutive measurements, and to estimate a position of the distal-end assembly in the body based on (i) the signals exchanged with the intra-body electrodes and the body-surface electrodes, (ii) a-priori known spatial relationships between two or more of the intra-body electrodes of the probe and (iii) the estimated spatial displacement of the magnetic sensor.

A haptic exertion component exerts haptic stimulation to the operator based on the received signal such that when the received signal reflects a pressure being exerted by the medical tool against the anatomical surface of a patient is in a defined range for operation of the medical tool, the exertion component exerts haptic stimulation at a predetermined level that indicates pressure of the medical tool is being exerted in the defined range. Otherwise, the exertion component does not exert a level of haptic stimulation that is equal to or more than the predetermined level or the exertion component exerts a level of haptic stimulation to the operator that is more than the predetermined level.

Initially, the signal is processed to compute first magnetic locations and first electrical locations of the at least one of the patches. Subsequently, the signal is processed to compute second magnetic locations and second electrical locations of the at least one of the patches. A first relation is computed between the first magnetic and the first electrical locations, a second relation is computed between the second magnetic and the second electrical locations, and upon detecting a difference between the second and the first relations, a magnetic location correction is computed and then applied to track a position of a magnetic sensor inside the body.
