摘要： An expandable implant for inserting within a skeletal space is provided, and a method for using the implant to expand the skeletal space. The implant is preferably designed to be inserted into an intervertebral space to replace at least part of an intervertebral disc between adjacent vertebral bodies. The expandable implant contains at least one first expansion compartment and at least one second expansion compartments, which compartments can be inflatable balloons that are inflated by a catheter. Inflating the first expansion compartment expands the implant in a first direction and inflating the second expansion compartment expands the implant in a second direction.

The distal end portion of the tube has transverse openings formed through the tube wall for the entry of pressure waves into a lumen. The distal end portion of the tube which encompasses the openings, is malleable. The pressure monitoring guidewire can be formed by thermally treating the distal end portion of a guidewire formed of an elongated tube of one piece of elastic Nickel Titanium alloy having a distal end portion with transverse openings.

摘要： A thermal sensing system includes a one-piece clip formed of a thermally conductive material. The clip includes a flat, substantially enclosed portion with tabs extending upward from it for connecting the clip to a printed circuit board. The clip also includes a contact portion that is configured to contact a thermally emitting object along a substantial portion of its surface. The thermal sensing system also includes a thermistor. The thermistor may be mounted to the printed circuit board or directly mounted to the clip. Heat is transferred from the thermal object to the thermistor via the clip. This system may be used in various arrangements in which temperature of an object is monitored or maintained within a given range. For example, the system may be used with a rechargeable mouse to monitor the temperature of the replaceable battery during charging and discontinue charging should the temperature reach a predetermined limit.

摘要： A docking assembly for the extension of a guidewire. The docking assembly comprises a plug formed at the proximal end of the guidewire, and a socket formed of a tubing permanently bent so as to have a V shaped portion comprised between two straight portions. The end of straight portion is affixed to the distal end of extension wire. A sleeve is slidably engaged over the tubing to substantially straighten it and facilitate insertion of plug into the tubing. Removal of sleeve allows the tubing to recover its preshaped deformation, thereby assuring locking of plug in tubing. To release the assembly it suffices to pull the guidewire and extension wire oppositely to slip the plug out from the tubing.

The base section (6,106) also includes printed circuit board contacts (20,30,120,130), where the contacts (20,30,120,130) are reversely bent under the base section (6,106) and then vertically downwardly to form printed circuit board contacts (26,36,126,136), thereby allowing the electrical pin receiving socket to move relative to the printed circuit board.
