摘要: A graphite heat spreader is provided for use with a flash LED light source for a camera of a handheld device such as a cell phone. Dramatically reduced operating temperatures are provided at substantially increased power levels thus providing both improved lighting and improved operating life of the electronic components.

摘要: Constructions for and methods of manufacturing graphite heat spreaders having thermal vias placed therethrough are provided. Thermal vias having one or two flanges are disclosed, as are flush thermal vias. Graphite heat spreaders having surface layers covering the graphite material are provided. Graphite heat spreaders having a layer of cladding for increased structural integrity are provided. Also disclosed are methods of co-forging a graphite heat spreader element with a metal thermal via in place therein.

摘要: A compound heat sink for the removal of thermal energy useful for, inter alia, electronic devices or other components. The compound heat sink includes a die cast base element; an extruded dissipation element having a thermal conductivity of at least about 150 W/m-K; and a thermal connection material positioned between and in thermal contact with each of the base element and the dissipation element, wherein the thermal connection material having an in-plane thermal conductivity greater than the thermal conductivity of the dissipation element.

摘要: A lithium ion battery pack includes a plurality of prismatic lithium polymer cells and one or more graphite heat spreaders. Each spreader has at least two major surfaces and is made of one of a sheet of a compressed mass of exfoliated graphite particles, a graphitized polyimide sheet, or combinations thereof.
