摘要: A compound heat sink for the removal of thermal energy useful for, inter alia, electronic devices or other components. The compound heat sink includes a die cast base element; an extruded dissipation element having a thermal conductivity of at least about 150 W/m-K; and a thermal connection material positioned between and in thermal contact with each of the base element and the dissipation element, wherein the thermal connection material having an in-plane thermal conductivity greater than the thermal conductivity of the dissipation element.

摘要: A graphite-based heat exchanger, especially for use as a solar energy receptor as part of the thermal process in a solar power system, including an energy collection panel, a heat spreader, and a thermal element, wherein the heat spreader is formed of flexible graphite having a density of at least about 0.6 g/cc and a thickness of less than about 10 mm, and the heat spreader further has a first side and a second side, wherein the heat spreader is in a thermal transfer relationship with the thermal element, and wherein the energy collection panel includes at least one sheet or block of graphite.

摘要: A microchannel heat sink is manufactured from graphite materials. A heat sink member has at least a first thermal contact surface for making thermal contact with an electronic device. The heat sink member is constructed of at least a first sheet of compressed particles of exfoliated graphite, the first sheet having two major surfaces. At least one of the major surfaces has a first plurality of microchannels formed therein for carrying coolant fluid. Said microchannels each have a length parallel to one of said major surfaces and have a cross section normal to said length. The cross-section has at least one dimension below about 1000 microns.
