Abstract:
Methods of producing metal nanowires, compositions, and articles are disclosed. Such methods allow production of metal nanowires with reproducibly uniform diameter and length, even in the presence of catalyst concentration variation. Such metal nanowires are useful for electronics applications.
Abstract:
Nanomaterial preparation methods, compositions, and articles are disclosed and claimed. Such methods can provide nanomaterials with improved morphologies and reduced nitric oxide co-production relative to previous methods. Such materials are useful in electronic applications.
Abstract:
Methods of patterning metal nanowire containing transparent conductive films using laser diodes, where the films comprise a radiation absorbing substance, such as an infrared absorbing substance or an ultraviolet absorbing substance. The use of laser diodes can decrease the time and costs associated with patterning transparent conductive films comprising nanowires, such as silver nanowires.
Abstract:
Methods of preparing metal nanowire are disclosed that employ quaternary phosphonium salts. Such processes can produce long and thin nanowires. Compositions and articles comprising such nanowires are useful in electronics applications.
Abstract:
Branched nanowire preparation methods, compositions, and articles are disclosed. Such branched nanowires are useful for electronics and optical applications.
Abstract:
A device comprising a sampling container comprising a hollow elongated structure formed by at least one sidewall, a first end being open to receive an instrument, and a second end being open to provide a fluid passageway for fluid from a reservoir to enter into or drain from the fluid passageway when the first end of the sampling container is inserted into the fluid in the reservoir, the first end and the second end being disposed at opposite ends of the hollow elongated structure, a sidearm attached to the at least one sidewall, the sidearm comprising a joint, and a valve disposed at the joint.
Abstract:
A method comprising providing at least one reducing agent comprising at least one phenol group, the at least one reducing agent not also comprising a halogen atom, and reducing at least one silver ion to at least one silver nanowire in a reaction mixture comprising the at least one reducing agent. Exemplary reducing agents are 3,4-dihydroxybenzotriazole, 2,2′-isobutylidene-bis-(4,6-dimethyl-phenol), and tannic acid.
Abstract:
Methods employing novel solvents are disclosed for making metal nanostructures including metal nanowires. Such methods can be carried out at lower temperatures and higher production rates than those employing ethylene glycol. The products of these methods are useful for electronics applications.

Abstract:
Transparent conductive films, articles made from them, and methods of making them are disclosed. Some transparent conductive films include flexible glass substrates and conductive layers containing metal nanoparticles. Others include at least one layer with cell walls that contain metal nanorods or conductive nanowires. Still others include a substrate with a coating disposed on it, with the coating including conductive components and photopolymers. Such films are useful in such articles as electronic displays, touch screens, and the like.
