摘要: The present invention comprises a method and apparatus for automatic discovery of logical links between network devices. In one embodiment, the present invention comprises part of a network management system (“NM”) that manages a discrete set of network devices. The NM sends SNMP queries to individual network devices managed by the NM to obtain interface configuration data for each of the network interfaces of the device. The information requested includes destination information (“next hop” or “neighbor” IP address) for data packets sent from the interface. The NM checks to see whether a logical link corresponding to the received configuration information already exists in a logical link database maintained by the NM. If such a link exists the NM checks to see if the existing information for the link is valid. If the existing link data is valid, no change is made. If the existing information is not valid, or if no corresponding link is found in the link database, the NM creates a new link corresponding to the new configuration information. In one or more embodiments, the NM displays a graphical view of the discovered IP links on a graphical network map.

摘要: A label assembly includes a back sheet and a face sheet adhesively bonded to the back sheet and removable with respect to the back sheet. The face sheet includes a carrier portion and at least one label. At least one line of separation is formed between each label and the carrier portion to define an outer periphery of the label. The label is removable with respect to the carrier portion. A fold line is positioned between a first side portion of the label and a second side portion of the label. The first side portion includes a first removable panel cut within the first side portion on the face sheet. A first void is formed in the first side portion when the first removable panel is removed from the label. The second side portion includes a second removable panel cut within the second side portion on the face sheet. A second void is formed in the second side portion when the second removable panel is removed from the label. With the label removed from the back sheet and separated from the carrier portion, the first side portion is foldable with respect to the second side portion along the fold line to form the label with the first void aligned with the second void.

摘要: An apparatus and method for transferring a label from a label assembly onto a multi-surfaced object includes folding a first portion of the label along a first line of weakness and retaining a remaining portion of the label to the back sheet. An edge of the object is then inserted against the first line of weakness and the first portion of the label is adhered to a first surface of the object. A remaining portion of the label is then removed from the label assembly and adhered to the additional surface of the object resulting in a properly indexed, smooth application of the label to the object.

摘要: A power management agent for managing power among electronic systems includes a module for predicting a future power consumption level of the electronic systems, a module for determining a power budget threshold for the electronic systems, and a module for determining whether a predicted future power consumption level will exceed the power budget threshold. The power management agent also includes a module for selecting one or more of the electronic systems to throttle in response to a determination that the predicted future power consumption level will exceed the power budget threshold and a module for selecting a throttle level to be applied to the selected one or more of the electronic systems to substantially prevent the future power consumption level from exceeding the power budget threshold.

摘要: A network management system, and a method of, centrally provisioning a full transport LSP mesh and a full targeted LDP signaling session mesh in support of VPN services provisioning are provided. A network management system repository tracks Provider Edge nodes (PE) having label switch router functionality, transport LSP meshes and targeted LDP session meshes. The method includes selecting PE nodes for inclusion in a node group, identifying PE node pairs, and issuing commands to paired PE nodes to commission managed transport LSPs and targeted LDP signaling sessions. The advantages are derived from the full mesh LSP content transport provisioning and targeted LDP signaling session provisioning effected in a centralized network management context enabling service providers to: assure network resiliency, assure service quality, and provide accounting, in respect of Layer-2 and Layer-3 VPN services irrespective of client side deployed infrastructure while leveraging installed infrastructure in the service provider communications network core. Additional advantages are derived from increased operations management personnel productivity while reducing the probability of human error compared to manual provisioning thereof enabling wide availability of VPN services.
