Abstract:
Partially deamidated rice endosperm protein or rice endosperm protein which is partially conjugated with mono-, di-, oligo- or polysaccharides is used as novel protective hydrocolloid for fat-soluble active ingredients and/or fat-soluble colorants. The present invention further includes compositions comprising that rice endosperm protein and at least one fat-soluble active ingredient/colorant, as well as their manufacture, that rice endosperm protein itself and its manufacture. These compositions are used for the enrichment, fortification and/or coloration of food, beverages, animal feed, personal care or pharmaceutical compositions. The present invention is directed to theses uses and to food, beverages, animal feed, personal care and pharmaceutical compositions containing such a rice endosperm protein and such a composition, respectively.
Abstract:
(Modified) sorghum protein is used as novel protective hydrocolloid for active ingredients, especially fat-soluble active ingredients and/or colorants. Included are compositions comprising (modified) sorghum protein and at least one active ingredient and to their manufacture, as well as to the (modified) sorghum protein itself and its manufacture. These compositions are used for the enrichment, fortification and/or coloration of food, beverages, animal feed, personal care or pharmaceutical compositions, and to food, beverages, animal feed, personal care and pharmaceutical compositions containing such a (modified) sorghum protein and such a composition, respectively.

Abstract:
The present invention relates to compositions containing (fat-soluble) active ingredients and/or colorants in a matrix based on modified plant gums, i.e. plant gums that have been submitted to hydrolysis to degrade either the protein portion and/or where appropriate, the polysaccharide, and to a process for preparing these compositions as well as to modified plant gums, whose protein part is hydrolysed up to a degree of about 30%, preferably to a degree of from about 0.05 to about 30%, and/or whose polysaccharide part is hydrolysed up to a degree of about 50%, a process for the manufacture thereof and such modified plant gums themselves. The present invention further relates to the use of the compositions of this invention for the enrichment, fortification and/or for the coloration of food, beverages, animal feed, cosmetics and pharmaceutical compositions and to such food, beverages, animal feed, cosmetics and pharmaceutical compositions themselves.
Abstract:
A hydraulic valve play compensation element for an internal combustion engine is provided as a reverse-spring/free-ball element, with a cylindrical housing, a cylindrical piston (21) guided therein with sealing play and a control valve (20), which is arranged between a low-pressure chamber (22) of the piston (21) and a high-pressure chamber (24) of the housing, on a piston head (25) of the piston and which has a closing body (27), which can contact a valve seat (26) surrounding an axial bore hole (23) of the piston head (25) when carrying out a stroke (28) in the closing direction against the force of a control-valve spring (34) and which can contact a contact surface (29) of a valve cap (30) surrounding the closing body (27) when carrying out a stroke in the opening direction. In a region of the axial bore hole (23) for the closing body (27) there is a narrow guidance surface (32) with gaps, which enable a volume flow of hydraulic medium between the high-pressure chamber (24) and the low-pressure chamber (22).
Abstract:
To transmit energy without direct mechanical or electrical contact, a transmitter unit emits a laser beam onto a radiation receiver of a receiver unit including a photovoltaic cell arrangement surrounded by a ring-shaped reflector. A portion of the laser beam is reflected from the reflector back to the transmitter unit, where the received reflected signal is evaluated to determine the position of the laser beam impinging on the radiation receiver. The transmitter unit deflects the laser beam as necessary to impinge directly on the photovoltaic cell arrangement and track any relative motion of the receiver unit. The receiver unit orients the radiation receiver to optimize the energy reception. The position of the laser beam is modulated and the resulting variation of the reflected signal is evaluated to determine therefrom the position of the laser beam on the radiation receiver.
Abstract:
A measuring unit for measuring transmission parameters of a device under test, comprising a control unit, a transmitter and receiver unit and an evaluation unit. The transmitter and receiver unit is connected via a first connection to the control unit and via at least one transmission channel to the device under test. The device under test is connected via a second connection to the evaluation unit, wherein, for the measurement of the transmission parameters of the device under test, control-data packets and test-data packets are transmitted separately between the control unit and the evaluation unit, and wherein a transmission channel for the test-data packets can be disturbed in a targeted manner.
Abstract:
The invention describes previously undisclosed crystal forms of astaxanthin designated crystal form I and II. It has been surprisingly found that the two crystal forms of astaxanthin show an improved bioavailability, a relatively high solubility in specific organic solvents and an increased long-term stability. For example the new forms are stable in solid form for at least 90 days at a temperature of 20° C.-40° C. It was further found that the two crystal forms can be prepared from each other. Therefore the invention also relates to methods for preparing said crystal forms. In addition, the invention relates to administration forms (hereinafter also called “formulations”) comprising one of the two crystal forms according to the invention or mixtures thereof dissolved or suspended in oil or organic-solvent.
Abstract:
A non-return valve for a hydraulic tensioning system which is used in traction mechanism drives of internal combustion engines and which manipulates a hydraulic fluid flow between a pressure chamber and a reservoir. The non-return valve has a valve body which is inserted in a housing and which is embodied as a ball and which, when the non-return valve is closed, is supported in a spring-loaded fashion against a valve seat of a through-flow cross-section. When the non-return valve is open, the valve body is assigned to a valve seat of the housing and the flow cross-section (19) of the valve seat ensures a fluid flow through the non-return valve.
Abstract:
A method and system that replicates state information stored in a first data processing system to a second data processing system, whereby the state information is kept in a set of records. An incoming request message requesting a change of the state information is received and an indicator is assigned to the incoming request message representing the order in which the incoming request messages are processed. The sender of the incoming request message is sent a response message after confirmation that the at least one first storage subsystem received a modification record containing the indicator for the incoming request message and modification records of all predecessors of the incoming request message. The at least one first storage subsystem may send an acknowledge message to the first data processing unit confirming receipt of a modification record.
