摘要: Castable and weldable nickel-base alloys that exhibit a desirable balance of strength and resistance to corrosion and oxidation suitable for gas turbine engine applications. The alloy contains, by weight, about 1 0% to about 25% cobalt, about 20% to about 28% chromium, about 1% to about 3% tungsten, about 1.6% to about 3.8% aluminum, about 0.4% to about 1.5% titanium, where the sum of aluminum and titanium is about 1.8% to about 5.0%, about 0.5% to about 1.5% columbium, 0.5% to about 1.5% tantalum, about 0.001% to about 0.025% boron, about 0.05% maximum zirconium, about 0.02% to about 0.15% carbon, with the balance essentially nickel and incidental impurities. The alloy may more preferably contain about 2.8% to about 3.8% aluminum where the sum of aluminum and titanium is about 3.0% to about 5.0%, or about 1.6% to about 2.8% aluminum, where the sum of aluminum and titanium is about 1.8% to about 4.3%.

摘要: Double sided versions of several power transistor types are devices that are already known in the literature. Devices built in this configuration are generally required to have a separate driver circuit to control the front and rear control electrodes and provide the gate or base voltage and/or currents for the power switch. This is because there may be of the order of 1000V potential-difference between the frontside and rearside potentials when the transistor is in the off condition—and a single integrated circuit cannot generally sustain this within a single package. The NPN configuration is preferred in this case to benefit from electron conduction for the main power path between the emitters. However, problems arising when using a P-type wafer. The present invention seeks to avoid the use of P-type wafers while still getting the higher conduction performance of NPN operation.

摘要: A system and method for converting an analog signal to a digital signal is disclosed. The system includes a multiphase oscillator preferable a rotary oscillator, a sample and hold circuit, an integrator and a time-to-digital converter. The multiphase oscillator has a plurality of phases that are used in the time-to-digital converter to measure the time of a pulse created by the integrator. The edges of the pulse may optionally be sharpened by passing the pulse through a non-linear transmission line to improve the accuracy of the measurement process. To cut down on noise a tuned power network provides power to the switching devices of the rotary oscillator. Calibration is performed by fragmenting the sample and hold circuit and integrator and performing a closed loop calibration cycle on one of the fragments while the other fragments are joined together for the normal operation of the sample and hold and integrator circuits.

摘要: In a system and method providing a video with closed captioning, a processor may: provide a first website user interface adapted for receiving a user request for generation of closed captioning, the request referencing a multimedia file provided by a second website; responsive to the request: transcribe audio associated with the video into a series of closed captioning text strings arranged in a text file; for each of the text strings, store in the text file respective data associating the text string with a respective portion of the video; and store, for retrieval in response to a subsequent request made to the first website, the text file and a pointer associated with the text file and referencing the text file with the video; and/or providing the text file to an advertisement engine for obtaining an advertisement based on the text file and that is to be displayed with the video.

摘要: An inerting system for an aircraft fuel tank (10) uses an air separation device (12) to produce a supply of nitrogen-enriched air to replenish the fuel tank on consumption of fuel and to maintain the pressure difference across the walls of the tank (10) below design limits. The air separation device (12) provides substantially the whole of the mass of the gas required and so there is substantially no inward venting. This provides a substantially homogenous nitrogen content in the air in the tank (10).
