Abstract: A battery packaging material includes a laminate that includes at least a base material layer, a metal layer, an insulating layer, and a sealant layer laminated in this order. The insulating layer is formed of a resin composition containing a modified polyolefin resin modified with an unsaturated carboxylic acid or acid anhydride thereof and has a hardness, when measured by using a nanoindenter and pressing an indenter 5 μm into the insulating layer from a cross-section of the laminate in the laminating direction thereof, that ranges from 10 MPa to 300 MPa. In the sealant layer, an elastic modulus, when measured by using a nanoindenter and pressing an indenter 5 μm into the sealant layer from a cross-section of the laminate in the laminating direction thereof, ranges from 100 MPa to 1000 MPa.

Abstract: Presented is battery packaging material which is made of a laminate including, as the essentials, a base material layer, a metal layer and a sealant layer in this order. When a product obtained by packaging a battery element with the packaging material in a hermetically sealed state through heat sealing is heated, the packaging material delaminates at least at a part of the interface between the metal layer and the outside surface of the sealant layer with the hermetically sealed state being kept, and thereafter works so as to make the product unsealed.

Abstract: A battery packaging material has a very thin aluminum alloy foil with a thickness of not more than 40 μm, in which pinholes or cracks are unlikely to occur during molding, which has excellent moldability and appearance after molding, which is unlikely to be erroneously determined to be a defective product, and which makes highly accurate defect determination possible. The battery packaging material includes a stacked member provided with at least, in this order: a base material layer; an aluminum alloy foil layer; and a heat sealable resin layer, wherein: the aluminum alloy foil layer has a thickness of not more than 40 μm; the aluminum alloy foil layer is an aluminum alloy conforming to JIS standard A8021; and the aluminum alloy has a maximum crystal grain size of not more than 25 μm, and an average crystal grain size of not more than 10 μm.

A cell packaging material comprising a layered body provided with at least a substrate layer, a metal layer, an adhesive layer, and a heat-fusible resin layer in the stated order. The adhesive layer has a resin composition that contains an acid-modified polyolefin and an epoxy resin. In probe displacement amount measurements involving the use of a thermal mechanical analyzer, when a probe is placed on the surface of the adhesive layer at an end part of the cell packaging material and the probe is heated from 40° C. to 220° C., the position of the probe does not drop in relation to the initial value.
