摘要： Aqueous-based mixtures comprising colloidal vanadium oxide and a dispersed sulfonated polymer impart antistatic properties to coatings on a substrate and to self-supporting articles. The preferred colloidal vanadium oxide is alkoxide derived and provides mixed valence vanadium oxide wherein the vanadium ions are typically +4 and +5. Preferred sulfopolymers include sulfopolyesters, sulfopolyurethanes, sulfopolyurethanes/ureas, sulfopolyester polyols, and sulfopolyols. Antistatic composite structures comprising colloidal vanadium oxide and a sulfopolymer are also disclosed.

摘要： An abrasive article (i.e., a coated abrasive article or a three-dimensional, low density abrasive article) having a sufficient amount of vanadium oxide incorporated therein to provide having a reduced tendency to buildup static electricity during the abrading of a workpiece. Preferably, the abrasive article further comprises a compatible binder (preferably, a sulfonated polymer) to aid in securing the vanadium oxide to the abrasive article. In another aspect, a method of making the same is taught.

No barrier layer is used over the antistatic layer.
