The drug delivery device comprises a dose setting mechanism, a cartridge holder, and a cartridge contained within the cartridge holder. The cartridge holder is secured to the dose setting mechanism and comprises a collar or ring. The ring has the same color as other differentiation features on either the dose setting mechanism or the cartridge, or both. The color-coded ring is configured on the cartridge holder such that when the cartridge holder is assembled with the dose setting mechanism, the color-coded ring remains visible.

    摘要： A ferrule and a cartridge for use with a drug delivery device. A neck portion of the cartridge comprises a first coding feature. The ferrule comprises a main body defining a bore that extends from a proximal end and a distal end of the main body. The bore is configured for receiving the cartridge. A pass through is defined by the distal end. A coding feature is provided along at least a portion of the main body of the ferrule. This coding feature cooperates with a corresponding coding feature provided by a drug delivery device. Further, the ferrule is configured to cooperate with the first coding feature of the neck portion of the cartridge.

The cartridge holder includes a fastener that becomes operative based in part on a length of a cartridge or a diameter of the cartridge. In one embodiment, the cartridge holder is coupled to the drug delivery device. The cartridge holder comprises a first blocking feature. The drug delivery device includes a cartridge detector comprising a second blocking feature. This feature may be a pin, for engagement with the first blocking feature of the cartridge holder when the cartridge acts on the cartridge detector. The cartridge holder may further include a fastening mechanism configured to fasten the cartridge holder to the drug delivery device only when the second blocking feature engages the first blocking feature.

    摘要： A locking mechanism is provided for use with a reservoir and a reservoir holder so as to prevent unwanted tampering with the reservoir. The mechanism comprises a main body with an aperture that is coupled to the reservoir. A hinged flange is provided on the main body. The flange folds inwards at the pivot point provided by the hinge, toward the aperture of the main body, allowing the mechanism to pass over the ferrule of the reservoir. Once the mechanism is placed over the cartridge, the flange folds toward the reservoir at the pivot point, flexing away from the main body. The flange rests against the underside of the reservoir ferrule, thereby retaining the reservoir within the locking mechanism. The locking mechanism may be for use with either a disposable or a reusable delivery device.
