摘要: A method and apparatus of continuous casting with the use of a mold oscillating system adapted to oscillate a casting mold supported by a oscillating frame, the method including oscillating the mold by applying vibration at a preselected frequency higher than the natural frequency of the oscillating system; and increasing the amplitude of applied oscillation to a value in a range as determined by the ratio of a length of time of a downward movement period of the mold to a time length in which the speed of the mold exceeds the casting speed during the downward period. Preferably the preselected frequency of applied oscillation of the mold is approximately 1.5 times higher than the natural frequency of the oscillating frame.

摘要: A porous layer consisting of sintered material containing metal powder or ceramics powder is provided as the inner surface of a mold for use in continuous metal casting, and a shielding plate is provided on the outside of this porous layer. A gas is supplied in a gap portion formed between the porous layer and the shielding plate and the gas is spouted out from the porous portions in the porous layer into the inside of the mold, thereby forming a gas film between the inner surface of the mold and the molten metal. Electromagnetic coils are interposed between a stiffening plate and sandwiching frames around the mold and hanger frames supporting them. An annular cylindrical partition wall surrounding a nozzle is provided between the mold and a tundish, and a water-cooled reflecting plate having an annular downward reflecting surface is also provided therebetween.

摘要: The high frequency incising device includes a flexible tubular member secured to a manipulating unit. The tubular member has an open ended tip portion and a pair of longitudinal spaced openings in the wall of the tube. An electrically conductive wire extends through the flexible tube passing outwardly thereof through a forward one of the longitudinal openings and being anchored to the flexible tube at a rearward one of the longitudinal openings. Such anchoring is accomplished by bending the wire toward the tip portion of the tube. A second bend portion in the outwardly exposed wire is directed away from the tip portion such that the outwardly exposed wire takes on the shape of a fan or sector. An opposite end of the wire is connected to an electrically conductive pipe that is movably disposed in the manipulating unit and the tube. An end of the movable pipe that projects beyond the manipulating unit is connected to an anchoring device that is movable with respect to the manipulating unit. Accordingly movement of the anchoring device causes movement of the electrically conductive wire which causes the outwardly exposed portion of the wire to bulge away from the tube in an amount that is based upon a relative position of the anchoring device with respect to the manipulating unit. A contrast medium that is injected into the tube has a relatively unobstructed passage through the tip of the tube since the wire disposed within the tube and the bent portions of the wire within the tube do not impede flow of such contrast medium to the tip.

摘要: This invention relates to a liquid fuel combustion apparatus such as oil space heater in which liquid fuel is vaporized by a vaporizer and the vaporized liquid fuel is injected through a first nozzle to a burner. The vaporizer is heated by combustion of fuel gas which is injected through a second nozzle to the burner before the vaporizer has been heated up to a temperature at which the liquid fuel passing the vaporizer is evaporated. The injection of the fuel gas from the second nozzle to the burner is changed to the injection of the vaporized liquid fuel from the first nozzle when the vaporizer has been heated up to a desired temperature. The supply of the liquid fuel to the vaporizer is carried out by a fuel pump which is driven by electric power generated by a thermopile.

摘要: An illuminating light control device for an endoscope for controlling both the intensity and hue of illuminating light over a wide range. A shutter mechanism is disposed between a discharge lamp light source and the receiving end of an optical fiber bundle. The shutter mechanism may be moved between at least three positions. At the first position, the light is allowed to pass directly from the light source to the optical fiber bundle and the light source is allowed to vary between its maximum and minimum limits. At the minimum limit, the shutter mechanism disposes a transmission light control means in the light path and the light source is returned to its maximum limit whereupon the output light to the optical fiber bundle is the same before the change as afterward. The light source can then be varied again between its maximum and minimum limits thereby effectively doubling the range of light output intensity. The shutter can also be moved to a position which blocks the optical path for a photographing operation.
