摘要: Methods and devices for providing an even distribution of waste heat in a vehicular battery pack, including a battery pack, a cold plate, a coolant reservoir, a support structure between the battery pack and the coolant reservoir, and a conformable thermal interface material for filling the space between cells of the battery pack and the coolant reservoir so as to provide thermal contact between the cells and the coolant reservoir for distributing the waste heat. In addition, methods and devices for providing an even distribution of waste heat and structural support in any heat source to heat sink for applications such as small devices such as computer motors.

摘要: A sensor arrangement and method that may be used with a variety of different energy storage devices, including battery packs found in hybrid vehicles, battery electric vehicles, and other types of vehicles. An exemplary sensor arrangement includes a number of sensor units, a controller, and several connections, wherein two or more sensor units are coupled to each node of the battery pack and are coupled to the controller over different connections. An exemplary method is divided into two aspects: an error detection aspect and an error resolution aspect. Because the sensor arrangement provides multiple sensor readings for each node being evaluated, the method can enable the sensor arrangement to continue operating accurately and with redundancy even if it experiences a loss of one or more sensor units.

摘要: An automotive vehicle includes a vehicle steering system, an actuator configured to control the steering system, and first and second controllers. The first controller is in communication with the actuator, and is configured to communicate an actuator control signal based on a primary automated driving system control algorithm. The second controller is in communication with the actuator and with the first controller. The second controller is configured to, in response to a first predicted vehicle path based on the actuator control signal passing within a first threshold distance of a detected obstacle, control the actuator to maintain a current actuator setting. The second controller is also configured to in response to the first predicted vehicle path not passing within the first threshold distance of a detected obstacle, control the actuator according to the actuator control signal.

摘要: A battery cell includes a pouch, an electrolyte material, positive and negative electrodes, and one or more heat conducting members. The pouch has an inner surface defining an internal volume, within which is contained the electrolyte material. The electrodes form current collectors that are positioned within the internal volume of the pouch. The electrode terminals are connected to a respective one of the positive and negative electrodes. Each heat conducting member is in thermal communication with a respective electrode terminal fully within the internal volume of the pouch, and extends between the electrodes and the inner surface of the pouch. The heat conducting members form a parallel heat transfer path within the battery cell. A battery pack includes a housing containing multiple such battery cells.
