The present disclosure provides an electromechanical brake actuator system comprising an electromechanical brake actuator coupled to a derived position sensor, the derived position sensor comprising a controller, a rotation sensor, and an output drive circuit. In various embodiments, the derived position sensor may be configured to receive a first motor shaft angular velocity at a first time, receive a second motor shaft angular velocity at a second time, calculate a linear translation distance, and sum the linear translation distance and a previous ram position to obtain an actual ram position.

An electro-mechanical actuator in an aircraft brake may include a ball nut piston, and endcap coupled to the ball nut piston, a retaining ring coupled to the endcap, and a puck secured within the endcap. The puck may be permanently retained within the retaining ring. The retaining ring may be a split ring which is installed around a base of the puck. The puck may be inserted within a single-piece retaining ring, and the retaining ring may be bent over a base of the puck.

An integrated actuator drive unit (ADU) assembly for an electric motor actuator is disclosed. The integrated ADU assembly may comprise at least one of an integrally formed ring gear, an integrally formed thrust bearing and integrally formed load cell. The integrated ADU assembly may comprise a portion of an electromechanical actuator. The electromechanical actuator may be utilized for aircraft braking systems.

The present disclosure provides an actuator assembly comprising a ballnut having a helical track, an actuator drive unit (“ADU”) housing having an ADU track, and a ballscrew. In various embodiments, the ballscrew comprises a first translation bearing track, wherein the helical track and the first translation bearing track form a first translation bearing raceway in which a plurality of first translation bearing balls having a first diameter are disposed, and a second translation bearing track, wherein the helical track and the second translation bearing track form a second translation bearing raceway in which a plurality of second translation bearing balls having a second diameter are disposed, wherein the first diameter and the second diameter are not equal.

The ribbon gage may have one or more strain gages. The strain gages may measure the tension on the housing when the electric motor actuator exerts a load. The present disclosure provides devices and methods related to park brake systems and methods. In various embodiments, a park brake system may comprise a motor shaft having a first diameter portion and a second diameter portion, the second diameter portion having a greater diameter than the first diameter portion. A park brake system may further comprise a spring disposed at least partially around a circumference of the motor shaft, a wire coil disposed at least partially around a circumference of a bobbin, a one-way clutch disposed at least partially within the bobbin and coaxial to the motor shaft, an annular magnet disposed coaxial to the motor shaft and distal to at least a portion of the bobbin, and a clutch release mechanism disposed coaxial to the motor shaft and around the first diameter portion. In response to a first voltage being applied to the wire coil, the one-way clutch may translate axially in a first direction relative to the motor shaft and engage with the second diameter portion; in response to a second voltage applied to the wire coil, the one-way clutch may translate axially in a second direction relative to the motor shaft and engage with the clutch release mechanism.

An electromechanical actuator (EMA) is disclosed. The EMA may comprise an EMA housing, a ball nut extending axially within the EMA housing, a ball screw extending axially within the ball nut, and/or an actuator drive unit (ADU) housing extending axially within the ball screw, the ADU housing having a proximal stop that extends radially outward of the ADU housing. The ball nut may be configured to translate axially in a proximal direction in response to a rotation by the ball screw, and the ball nut may be configured to be halted in the axially proximal translation in response to contact with the proximal stop. The proximal stop may be coupled to the ADU housing. The proximal stop may comprise a continuous annular structure.
