    摘要: The vibration filter comprises an inner ring (27) on which vibration-sensitive equipment may be installed, the ring (27) being suspended from a plurality of springs (24, 25, 26) elastically supported by posts (18, 19, 20) in turn mounted on an outer ring (1) which is spring-suspended the same as the inner ring (27) from a rigid bench (8). The springs (12, 13, 14; 24, 25, 26) and other elastic members (9, 10, 11; 15, 16, 17; 21, 22, 23; 28, 29, 30) have differing resonant frequencies.Between the bench (8) and the outer ring (1), and between the outer and inner rings (1, 27) there may be provided eddy current brakes consisting of strong permanent magnets (46, 48) arranged opposite individual copper or aluminum blocks (5, 47).

    摘要: The travelling support (1) comprises a piezo-electric plate (2) resting on three legs (6) whose bottom surface is insulated from the bench (8) on which the support is to travel, by a dielectric (7). The piezo-electric plate (2) can be caused to contract by means of an actuating voltage applied via sliders (9, 10) to top and bottom electrodes on the plate (2). By applying a voltage to the legs (6), these may be clamped selectively by electrostatic forces effective across the dielectric (7). Appropriate control of the actuating and clamping voltages causes the support (1) to either move in a linear or rotary fashion. The displacements the support can perform per step are in the nanometer range.

    摘要: The vacuum tunnel effect is utilized to form a scanning tunneling microscope. In an ultra-high vacuum at cryogenic temperature, a fine tip is raster scanned across the surface of a conducting sample at a distance of a few Angstroms. The vertical separation between the tip and sample surface is automatically controlled so as to maintain constant a measured variable which is proportional to the tunnel resistance, such as tunneling current. The position of the tip with respect to the surface is controlled preferably by piezo electric drive means acting in three coordinate directions. The spatial coordinates of the scanning tip are graphically displayed. This is conveniently done by displaying the drive currents or voltages of piezo electric drives.

    摘要: A method of intuitively displaying values obtained from analyzing bio-medical images includes displaying a table of the values in a first pane of a graphical user interface. The table contains a user selectable row that includes a reference value and two numerical values. The reference value refers to an image of a tissue slice. The first numerical value is generated by performing image analysis on the image, and the second numerical value indicates a health state of the tissue. The image is displayed in a second pane of the graphical user interface in response to the user selecting the user selectable row. A graphical plot with a selectable symbol associated with the image is displayed in a third pane. The symbol has a position in the plot defined by the values. Alternatively, in response to the user selecting the selectable symbol, the image is displayed in the second pane.

    摘要: A method for determining whether a test biomarker is a stain for a type of cell component, such as membrane or nucleus, involves performing various segmentation processes on an image of tissue stained with the test biomarker. One segmentation process searches for a first cell component type, and another segmentation process searches for a second cell component type by segmenting only stained pixels. The test biomarker is identified as a stain for each component type if the process identifies the component based only on stained pixels. Whether the test biomarker is a membrane stain or nucleus stain is displayed on a graphical user interface. In addition, the method identifies stained pixels corresponding to a second cell component using pixels determined to correspond to a first cell component. An expression profile for the test biomarker is then displayed that indicates the proportion of stained pixels in each type of cell component.

    摘要: High-resolution digital images of adjacent slices of a tissue sample are acquired, and tiles are defined in the images. Values associated with image objects detected in each tile are calculated. The tiles in adjacent images are co-registered. A first hyperspectral image is generated using a first image, and a second hyperspectral image is generated using a second image. A first pixel of the first hyperspectral image has a first pixel value corresponding to a local value obtained using image analysis on a tile in the first image. A second pixel of the second hyperspectral image has a second pixel value corresponding to a local value calculated from a tile in the second image. A third hyperspectral image is generated by combining the first and second hyperspectral images. The third hyperspectral image is then displayed on a computer monitor using a false-color encoding generated using the first and second pixel values.

    摘要: Provides surface treatment devices, surface scanning devices, methods of operating a surface treatment device and methods of operating a surface scanning device. An area within a medium comprises at least one sharpening location for sharpening a tip of a probe mechanically. The tip is conically shaped with a radius of an apex smaller than 100 nm. In the case of the surface treatment device the probe is designed for altering the surface of the medium. In the case of the surface scanning device the probe is designed for scanning the medium. The sharpening location is suited for sharpening the tip mechanically. For that purpose the probe and the medium are being moved relative to each other such that the tip is located in the sharpening location. Then the probe and/or the medium are moved relative to each other such, that the tip is mechanically sharpened.
