    摘要: A method of heat-sealing substrates, particularly glass to glass or glass to other materials, which comprises using as a heat-sealing medium a silicic acid heteropolycondensate prepared by hydrolysis and polycondensation of at least one organosilane and at least one component selected from the group consisting of silicon-functional silanes, substantially involatile oxides soluble in the reaction medium, or compounds convertible thereto, and organofunctional silanes.The heat-sealing bonds obtained are strong, durable and moisture resistant, the excellent moisture resistance being of special benefit in the heat-sealing of glass substrates.

    摘要: Silicic acid heteropolycondensates made from hydrolyzable silicic acid derivatives and substituted silanes, optionally with either or both of one or more functional silanes and non-volatile metal oxides or their precursors are made by a known technique, in which the reaction mixture is hydrolyzed and condensed by the action of water and a condensation catalyst, the latter being employed in an amount up to 3% by weight, based upon the weight of the reaction mixture. Improved heteropolycondensates usable as adsorbents and porous membranes can be made by using greater amounts of catalyst, ranging up to 75% by weight, based upon the weight of the reaction mixture. These improved products are very stable in use and are characterized by a pore structure which includes fine pores and coarse pores, whereby products in the form of membranes can have an asymmetrical structure, if desired.

    摘要: A process for the production of silicic acid heteropolycondensates wherein at least one substituted silane; at least one functional silane; at least one hydrolysable silicic acid derivative and optionally at least one substantially involatile oxide soluble in the reaction medium, or a compound convertible thereto, are condensed in the presence of at least the quantity of water stoichiometrically required for hydrolysis and optionally in the presence of a condensation catalyst and/or a solvent.The heteropolycondensates prepared by this process are useful in the preparation of coatings for substrates, which coated substrates are useful as supports in the culture of living cells.
