    摘要: To control flow velocity of a culture liquid inside a membrane separation tank without giving influences to culture conditions in the fermentation tank, and also suppress precipitation of microorganisms or culture cells so that the production efficiency of the chemical product can be improved, in a method for producing a chemical product including the steps of: cultivating microorganisms or culture cells in a fermentation tank; transferring a culture liquid from the fermentation tank to a membrane separation tank so as to filter the culture liquid through a separation membrane; and collecting a fermentation product from a filtration liquid as the chemical product while refluxing an unfiltered culture liquid that has not been filtered so as to be joined to the culture liquid on an upstream side of the membrane separation tank, one portion of the culture liquid to be transferred from the fermentation tank is allowed to bypass the membrane separation tank depending on a pressure at the culture liquid flow-in side of the membrane separation tank.

    摘要: A method of producing a compound originating from a polysaccharide-based biomass includes at least one of a saccharification step that produces a sugar solution containing a monosaccharide and/or an oligosaccharide from a product obtainable by hydrolyzing the polysaccharide-based biomass; a fermentation step that ferments the sugar solution containing the monosaccharide and/or oligosaccharide originating from the polysaccharide-based biomass; and a treatment that removes a fermentation inhibitor with the use of a separation membrane having a glucose removal rate and an isopropyl alcohol removal rate which simultaneously satisfy the following relationships (I) and (II) when a 500 ppm aqueous glucose solution at pH 6.5 at 25° C. and a 500 ppm aqueous isopropyl alcohol solution at pH 6.5 at 25° C. are respectively permeated through the membrane at an operation pressure of 0.5 MPa, prior to the saccharification step and/or in the step prior to the fermentation step: Glucose removal rate≧80%  (I) Glucose removal rate−Isopropyl alcohol removal rate≧20%  (II).

    摘要: A spiral reverse osmosis membrane element of the present invention includes a plurality of bag-shaped reverse osmosis membranes, permeated liquid passage members arranged inside the reverse osmosis membranes, and a plurality of feed liquid passage members interposed between the reverse osmosis membranes, those membranes and passage members being wound around an outer surface of a hollow pipe in a manner that only the interiors of the reverse osmosis membranes communicate with through-holes formed in the surface of the hollow pipe. Each of the feed liquid passage members is a mesh member having series of quadrilateral meshes formed by a plurality of linear members crossing each other. Two opposite cross-points out of four cross-points of each of the quadrilateral meshes are in line in parallel with an axial direction of the hollow pipe. And relations 2 mm≦X≦5 mm and X≦Y≦1.8X are both satisfied where X denotes a distance between the cross-points in a direction perpendicular to the axial direction of the hollow pipe and Y denotes a distance between the cross-points in the axial direction of the hollow pipe.
