    摘要： A substrate assembly is stuffed into a converter outer shell to form a catalytic converter having a desired gap bolt density (GBD) value. The substrate assembly is formed by wrapping and taping a mat around a catalytic substrate. A predetermined pressure is applied to the substrate assembly and an outer diameter of the substrate assembly is measured at this predetermined pressure. A GBD value is predicted based on this measurement and if the GBD value is acceptable the substrate assembly is stuffed into the converter outer shell.

    摘要： In a method of fabricating an exhaust gas handling device, particularly an automotive emission control device, an insert, for example comprising a substrate and a support matting, is sensed as to its specific elasticity before it is clamped in place in an outer housing. For sensing, the insert is pressurized from without in a sensing station. Via the applied pressure and the displacement of the sensing tool the displacement of the insert at which it is to be clamped in place in the outer housing is determined. Then, the insert is fitted in an outer housing the inner dimensions of which correspond to the previously sensed wanted outer dimensions of the insert in the wanted compression.

    摘要： The specification discloses a process and apparatus for the purification of wastewater in several successive stages wherein the wastewater is aerated in a first region and is then subjected to intermediate clarification in a second region and including a post-clarification aeration in a third region and post-clarification sedimentation in a fourth region.In order to provide a simple, space-saving, low-cost yet reliable wastewater treatment arrangement, the apparatus is arranged to include all four regions in one basin by providing separating walls in the basin. These regions can be preceded by other processing stage regions and followed by filtering or storage regions.In order to allow adjustment for varying loads and for changing relationships between hydraulic and biochemical loads, the separating walls between the regions are arranged to be movable to permit changes in the relative volumes of the regions.
