摘要: A system for providing alerts of neurological events occurring in a human subject is provided. The system includes: a monitoring module adapted to detect and sample a neurological signal; an event detection module coupled to the monitoring module for detecting one or more types of predetermined reportable events based on the detected neurological signal; and an alert module coupled to the event detection module, wherein upon the detection of a reportable event by the event detection module, said alert module selects a first alert contact from a plurality of contacts contained in a contact list, and generates a first alert communication to the first alert contact.

摘要: A patient advisory device (“PAD”) and its methods of use. The PAD may be configured to alert the patient about an estimated brain state of the patient. In preferred embodiments, the PAD is adapted to alert the patient of the patient's brain state, which corresponds to the patient's propensity of transitioning into an ictal brain state, e.g., having a seizure. Based on the specific type of alert, the patient will be made aware whether they are highly unlikely to have a seizure for a given period of time, an elevated propensity of having a seizure, a seizure is occurring or imminent, or the patient's brain state is unknown.

摘要: A method of comparing a patient's neurological data to data that is indicative of the patient's clinical manifestation of a seizure. In some embodiments, the method includes the steps of monitoring neurological data from a patient indicative of the patient's propensity for having a seizure; automatically recording clinical manifestation data from the patient that may be indicative of the occurrence of a clinical seizure; and analyzing the automatically recorded clinical manifestation data and the monitored neurological data to determine if one of the clinical manifestation data and the neurological data indicates the occurrence of a seizure while the other does not. Systems are described including a monitoring device having a communication assembly for receiving neurological data transmitted external to a patient from a transmitter implanted in a patient; a processor that processes the neurological data to estimate the patient's brain state; and an assembly for automatically recording clinical manifestation data in response to a brain state estimate by the processor.

摘要: A telemetry receive unit for use in an implantable medical device or system can include a coil unit, a single-bit analog to digital converter (ADC), a finite impulse response filter (FIR) coupled to the single-bit ADC, and an accumulator coupled to one or more filter taps of the FIR filter. The accumulator, in operation, can produce one or more data recognition signals corresponding to sampled bits at least temporarily stored at the FIR filter. In several examples, the data recognition signals discriminate between frequency modulated signals that are received at the coil unit, including frequency shift keying (FSK) modulated signals.

摘要: A high frequency cathode heater supply for a microwave source includes a SMPS inverter and an isolation transformer having a primary winding arranged to be powered by the SMPS inverter, a monitor winding passing through primary core assemblies of the primary winding and a secondary winding arranged for connection to the cathode heater. A current monitor is arranged to monitor a current in the primary windings. Signal processing modules are arranged to receive a first input signal from the monitor winding indicative of a voltage across the cathode heater and a second input signal from the current monitor indicative of a current through the cathode heater. The signal processing modules are arranged to output a control signal to the SMPS inverter to control power supplied to the cathode heater dependent on a monitored resistance of, or monitored power supplied to, the cathode heater as determined from the first input signal and the second input signal.
