摘要： The present invention provides system and a method for managing calls from at least one calling party to at least one called party. The method includes intercepting an incoming call from the calling party designated to arrive at the called party's telephone when it is busy or does not answer. Information received from the caller, such as a message, is processed according to profile instructions provisioned by the called party. The profile instructions include instructions regarding storing the call information, sending the call information to a specified address, or a combination thereof. Preferably, the call information includes a call log within which is embedded one or more interfaces to: an audio file representation of a message from a caller, a click-to-dial service, a telephone directory service, or a personal address book of the called party.

摘要： The present invention provides a system and a method for providing notification of an incoming call from the calling party to the called party. The method includes receiving a request to connect the call from the calling party to plurality of end devices of the called party. A profile information associated with the called party is retrieved. The profile information includes data on plurality of the end devices provisioned to be alerted upon connection of the incoming call and on instructions for alerting the end devices in a specific sequence. Additionally, the end devices of the incoming call are alerted in accordance with the specific sequence which would be either parallel ringing order or sequential ringing order.

When a caller enters a partial desired telephone number, an embodiment of the present invention receives the partial number and determines whether an advertisement should be presented to the caller. If all of the appropriate conditions are met, a selected advertisement is transmitted to the caller's telephony device and the caller is given the opportunity to respond to the advertisement before the dialing operation completes.

摘要： A messaging system uses the standard email subject line to control where a message gets delivered, when a message gets delivered and the appearance of a message when it gets delivered. This enables a company to use its standard intranet email system as a pseudo real-time messaging transport with a range of delivery options. Several codes control the features of the alerting message, and a predefined escape sequence for use by the sender is recognizable by a dedicated server. This escape sequence enables these codes. By placing the escape sequence in a predetermined location in each message, the sender indicates to the system that codes for controlling the features of the alerting message follow the escape sequence. Using these codes, the user can then specify when, how often and in what manner the alert message is displayed to the recipient in a window on the recipient's workstation. In addition, the sender can certain aspects of message routing and delivery using these codes. In addition, routing of the message within the network can be controlled by the sender in the same manner by specifying a particular routing within the subject line of the message following the escape sequence. This includes routing the message to a facsimile, a pager or a telephone, or voice mail system. This is in addition to the normal email address used in the message.

摘要： A laptop has an integrated telephone, in which the telephone and mouse unit are arranged in a manner that allows the mouse to be adjusted to either side of the laptop computer to accommodate either a left-handed or right-handed person. A telephone is tightly integrated into the body of a laptop PC creating a much more natural and ergonomic physical interface between the phone and the computer. The resulting device includes a mounting for the mouse module, allowing ease of use by both right-handed and left-handed users. The laptop computer includes a recessed storage area for the small telephone handset. The storage area is located in the area just below the keyboard, i.e., the area where the user's wrists usually lie. The telephone handset and associated cable reside in the tray. The mouse module slides along a guide way in the tray, and can be positioned on either side of the guide tray/telephone handset storage tray. The benefits of the above tight integration of the laptop PC and the telephone are many. First, one's laptop becomes one's telephone console. Second, the resulting telephone has local user programmable processing and a large storage area. Furthermore, the telephone has a large high resolution display. Moreover, integrating an IP telephone into the laptop allows communication over the same network IP links that the laptop communicates over normally. Finally, this does not preclude the inclusion of a standard PSTN telephone in the laptop.
