    摘要: An aromatic dicarboxylic acid composition, essentially consisting of (a) at least one aromatic dicarboxylic acid; (b) 1-3000 ppm of at least one compound selected from the group consisting of 6-formyl-2-naphthoic acid, 6-methoxycarbonyl-2-naphthoic acid and trimellitic acid; (c) 1-1000 ppm of at least one alkali metal and (d) 0-3000 ppm of at least one transition metal is provided. By employing the composition in manufacturing liquid crystalline polyester, LPCs with good coloring property and improved heat resistance as well as excellent mechanical property can be obtained. The present invention also provides a liquid crystalline polyester resin prepared by using the composition.

    摘要: The present invention provides a liquid-crystalline polyester resin which comprises monomer units derived from 2-hydroxy-3-naphthoic acid and/or 2-hydroxynaphthalene-3,6-dicarboxylic acid in an amount of 1-5000 mmol % based on the total monomer components of the resin and an alkaline metal compound in an amount of 10-3000 ppm as alkaline metal based on the total monomer components of the resin. The liquid-crystalline polyester resin of the present invention has good colorability, improved heat resistance and good mechanical properties.

    摘要: The subject invention relates to the polyester compositions being composed of (a) an aromatic polyester having the relative viscosity of 1.2 to 2.0, (b) an aromatic polycarbonate having the number average molecular weight of 10,000 to 80,000, and (c) a glycidyl-group containing copolymer consisting essentially of .alpha.-olefine and glycidyl ester of .alpha.,.beta.-ethylenically unsaturated carboxylic acid and having the melt index of 0.1 to 100. They are useful for manufacturing electric, electronic and automotive parts, being superior in flow property and melt stability on molding, as well as in mechanical properties particularly in impact and hot-air aging resistance. The compositions can be molded to form various articles by conventional molding methods.

    摘要: Disclosed is a polyester composition comprising (a) 100 parts by weight of an aromatic polyester; (b) 0.005-10 parts by weight of an epoxy compound of the formula (I): ##STR1## (wherein Ar means C.sub.6 -C.sub.20 aromatic group or C.sub.6 l-C.sub.20 alicyclic group, n means an integer of 0-20); and (c) 1-70 parts by weight of at least one elastomer which has at least one functional group selected from the group consisting of epoxy groups, carboxyl group, carboxylate ester groups, carboxylic acid amide groups, acid anhydride group, imide groups, carboxylate salt groups, hydroxyl group, amino group and cyano group, the elastomer having a tensile modulus of 1-6,000 kg/cm.sup.2. The polyester resin composition of the present invention can easily be molded and the obtained molded article excells in mechanical properties such as impact strength. The obtained molded article also excells in flowability and residence stability during the molding, and in hydrolysis stablity, resistance to thermal cycling and in weatherability.
