    摘要: A coherent laser radar system includes a pulsed laser oscillating a pulsed laser beam which is split into two parts by an optical divider. A first part of the two is transmitted as a transmitted beam via a beam splitter. A second part is supplied to a delay line via a coupling optics and others to be delayed by a predetermined time as a local beam, and is incident onto an optical coupler. The received beam from the target is incident onto the optical coupler via a scanning optics and so on. A photodetector carries out the coherent detection of the light beam coupled by the optical coupler. A signal processor computes a target velocity and the like from a signal generated by the detection and converted into a digital signal by an A/D converter. This makes it possible to solve a problem of a conventional system in that the system configuration is complicated and expensive.

    摘要: An object of the invention is to obtain a coherent laser radar device that provides one system of a photo detector and eliminates a blind zone, including a pulsed laser that oscillates at a frequency which is identical with or close to an output light of a local light source as a single frequency; a transmission/reception optical system that irradiates a pulsed laser beam from the pulsed laser toward a target as a transmission light and receives a scattered light from the target as a reception light; a light coupling means that couples the output light from the local light source and the reception light; a photo detecting portion that conducts light coherent detection on a coupled light; and a signal processing device that calculates a speed and a distance of a target in accordance with an output of the detection, in which the photo detecting portion comprises: a photo detecting element that conducts the light coherent detection; a microwave switch that changes over a propagation path of an output from the photo detecting element; a microwave amplifier; and a switch control means that changes over the microwave switch so as to transmit a signal before a reference time as a monitor signal and transmit a signal after the reference time as a reception signal with a time at which the pulse light from the pulsed laser has completely passed through the transmission/reception optical system as the reference time.

    摘要: In a laser device, a control range of focal distance of a generated thermal lens is broadened and reliability is improved. A mode control waveguide-type laser device includes: a planar laser medium having a waveguide structure in a thickness direction of a cross section perpendicular to an optical axis, for generating gain with respect to laser light; a cladding bonded onto the laser medium; and a heat sink bonded onto the laser medium. The laser medium generates a lens effect, and the laser light oscillates in a waveguide mode in the thickness direction, and oscillates in a spatial mode due to the lens effect in a direction perpendicular to the optical axis and the thickness direction. The refractive index distribution within the laser medium is created by generating a temperature distribution in the laser medium depending on a junction area of the cladding and the heat sink.

    摘要: A planar waveguide laser device forms a waveguide by a plate-like laser medium having birefringence and clad attached to at least one of the surfaces of the laser medium perpendicular to its thickness direction, amplifies laser light by a gain produced by excitation light incident on the laser medium, and performs laser oscillation. The laser medium is formed of a material having an optic axis on a cross section perpendicular to the light axis, which is the laser travelling direction. The clad is formed of a material having a refractive index in a range between refractive indexes of two polarized lights that travel along the light axis in the laser medium and have oscillation surfaces that are orthogonal to each other. The planar waveguide laser device readily oscillates linearly polarized laser light.

    摘要: To obtain a coherent laser radar device that realizes high reliability and the high output of a transmitted light, the device includes a first optical coupler that branches a laser beam from a laser source into two lights, a local light and a transmitted light, an optical modulator that modulates the transmitted light, a space type optical amplifier that amplifies the modulated transmitted light, a transmitting/receiving optical system that applies the amplified transmitted light toward a target and receives a scattered light from the target, a transmitting/receiving light splitting device that splits the transmitted light and the received light, a second optical coupler that mixes the local light and the split received light together, a photodetector that detects heterodyne of a mixed light, a beat signal amplifier that amplifies a detected signal, a signal processing device that processes an amplified signal, and a display device that displays a processed result. The first and second optical couplers and an optical modulator are structured by polarization maintained type optical elements, and an optical path that extends from the laser source to the space type optical amplifier through the first optical coupler, an optical path that extends from the transmitting/receiving light splitting device to the photodetector through the second optical coupler, and an optical path that extends from the first optical coupler to the second optical coupler are connected by polarization maintained type single mode optical fibers.

    摘要: A plane waveguide type laser according to the present invention includes: a plate-shaped laser medium (5); a semiconductor laser (1) which causes excitation light to enter an end surface (5a) of the laser medium (5); first and second claddings (4a and 4b) which are bonded to lower and upper surfaces of the laser medium (5), respectively, to form a waveguide in a vertical direction; a comb heat sink (2) bonded to a lower surface of the first cladding (4a); and thermal lens producing means (20) bonded to an upper surface of the second cladding (4b). In this structure, laser oscillation in the vertical direction is performed in a waveguide mode of the laser medium (5), and the thermal lens producing means (20) forms a periodic lens effect in the laser medium (5) to perform laser oscillation in a lateral direction in a plurality of resonant modes. Therefore, a resonator having a small round-trip loss maybe formed without depending on a size of a thermal lens produced by excitation, and hence a rising characteristic of a pulse operation or a CW operation may be smoothed to obtain high-power stable output.
