    摘要： A paper width of a sheet of paper is input into a paper width setting section. In case of defining a non-print area at a fore end of the paper, a paper bail roller is manually separated from a platen to output a detection signal A from a paper bail switch. In this case, a paper feeding motor is controlled to be driven by a control device, thereby feeding the paper until the fore end of the paper reaches the paper bail roller. On the other hand, in case of starting printing from the fore end of the paper, an operating section is operated to output a command signal B therefrom. In this case, only when the paper width input into the paper width setting section is determined to be less than a predetermined value by the control device, the paper feeding motor is controlled to be driven by the control device, thereby feeding the paper until the fore end of the paper reaches a position opposed to the printing head, and a centering device is controlled to be driven by the control means, thereby moving a carrier to a transverse center of the paper, so as to suppress separation of opposite side portions of the paper from the platen.

    摘要： In a printer having a platen, a print head disposed opposite to the platen, and a ribbon mask fixedly provided on the print head and having a masking plate provided with an aperture to expose only the front end of the print head to the platen, an ink ribbon is extended through a space between the platen and the print head, and the masking plate is disposed between the platen and the ink ribbon to shield a recording sheet wound round the platen from the ink ribbon. The aperture of the masking plate has inclined edges inclined to a direction perpendicular to the direction of movement of the print head so as to intersect a platen center obliquely. In case the side edge of a floating portion of the recording sheet is caught in the aperture of the masking plate while the print head is moved, the side edge slides along the inclined edge to escape from the aperture, so that the side edge is not caught in the aperture of the masking plate.

    摘要： A toner cartridge includes a toner receptacle that houses toner, a plurality of stirring members housed in the toner receptacle, a plurality of gears meshing with each other on outside of the toner receptacle, and a phase display section. The stirring members are arranged next to each other in the toner receptacle and rotate to stir the toner. Each of the stirring members has a scraper that scrapes off the toner adhering to an inner surface of the toner receptacle. The gears rotate to rotate the stirring members in an interlocked manner with each other. The phase display section shows a meshing position of the gears so that the gears mesh with each other at a position where a phase difference along a rotating direction of the stirring members occurs between the scrapers of the stirring members that are next to each other.
