    摘要: An information recording/reproducing device includes a light source separately projecting laser light for recording or reproducing, an optical system leading the projected laser light to a recording medium, a diffracting element separating laser light into main- and beam sub-beams, an evanescent light generating element irradiating evanescent light in relation to the separated sub-beam to a track where no recording pit is formed, a sub-light receiving element for receiving return light in relation to the sub-beam, a moving element for moving the evanescent light generating element in relation to the sub-beam to a direction to change a gap with the recording surface, and a control element; for controlling the moving element so as to make the gap become a predetermined target value in accordance with a gap error signal containing a signal indicative of a light amount of the return light in relation to the received sub-beam.

    摘要: An information recording and reproducing device diffracts by a diffracting means (14) to make laser light separated into a main beam and a sub-beam, irradiates evanescent light in relation to the main beam, by an evanescent light generating means (21), to a track where a recording pit provided on a recording surface of a recording medium is formed and also irradiates evanescent light in relation to the sub-beam to be separated to a track where no recording pit provided on the recording surface of the recording medium is formed. A moving means (210) moves the evanescent light generating means to a direction to change a gap with the recording surface. Further, a judging means (40) judges an uneven state of the recording pit formed on the recording medium, a signal generating means (3161) generates a gap error signal from a signal indicative of a return light amount in relation to the sub-beam or the main beam in accordance with the result, a control means (315) controls the moving means in accordance with a gap error signal so as to make the gap become a target value in response to the uneven state to be judged.

    摘要: An optical disc (100) from which a plurality of pieces of information recorded along a track (9) by irradiating light that moves above the track relatively are reproduced in parallel. The optical disc has a disc substrate (1), and a recording layer (2) formed thereon. On the recording layer, a track is defined concentrically and two pit rows for carrying the plurality of pieces of information independently from each other are arranged along the track on the opposite sides thereof. At a specific position where the two pit rows are in a predetermined mutual relation and the plurality of pieces of information read out by irradiating light cannot be distinguished, at least one of two pit rows is shifted by a predetermined distance in the radial direction of the disc substrate by having the track as reference. Consequently, recording capacity can be increased relatively easily.
