The method includes evaluating whether or not an error of the channel equalizer converges within a range of a threshold of visibility and determining the status of a control signal to select whether the tap coefficient of the channel equalizer will be updated using a least mean square (LMS) algorithm or a Kalman algorithm, wherein the LMS algorithm is the default error correction means and the Kalman algorithm is utilized when the control signal indicates the presence of a training signal.

Method and apparatus for use with digital television receivers are included among the embodiments. In exemplary systems, components of an interfering analog television signal (e.g., an NTSC signal) in the same channel as a DTV signal are separately estimated and canceled from the DTV signal. For instance, separate frequency shifters produce shifted versions of the DTV signal, each shifter placing one interfering NTSC carrier signal at or near DC. A DC detector detects the NTSC carrier strength for each carrier, and carrier cancellation signals are synthesized based on these measured carrier strengths. This rejection filter is simpler than prior art filters that require phase-lock on the interfering carriers, and also allows the filter to operate when phase-lock on interfering carriers is difficult to obtain. The photoconductive layer is formed of a water soluble photoconductive liquid including a water soluble binder, allowing a part of the photoconductive layer to be selectively exposed to a visible ray. The photoresist of the above photoconductive liquid is substituted with dye, which can be processed through general exposure and solvent, allowing the fluorescent layer to be formed on a Braun tube under the same conditions as a typical Braun tube production process without darkroom processing.

A nitride semiconductor light emitting device includes n-type and p-type nitride semiconductor layers, and an active layer disposed between the n-type and p-type nitride semiconductor layers and having a stack structure in which a plurality of quantum barrier layers and one or more quantum well layers are alternately stacked. A net polarization of the quantum barrier layer is smaller than or equal to a net polarization of the quantum well layer. A nitride semiconductor light emitting device can be provided, which can realize high efficiency even at high currents by minimizing the net polarization mismatch between the quantum barrier layer and the quantum well layer. Also, a high-efficiency nitride semiconductor light emitting device can be achieved by reducing the degree of energy-level bending of the quantum well layer.

The complex system includes a plurality of ink-jet heads for feeding ink to form a plurality of patterns on a printing object. In addition, the complex system includes at least one test device, being mounted on a back side of the gantry, for testing the status of the plurality of patterns formed on the printing object; and a controller for controlling respective operations of the plurality of ink-jet heads, the gantry, and at least one test device.
