In particular, WC crystallites should protrude beyond the hard metal or cermet surface of the by 2 to 20 &mgr;m in order to improve the adhesion of surface layers that are applied.

摘要： A hard metal or cermet body, especially as a cutting insert, has a WC content in the hard phase making up at least 10% and at most 96% thereof and three layers or zones between the interior of the body and the surface formed by the heat treatment to which the sinterable body is subjected. In the outermost layer hard material with limited binder content can be formed underlain by an intermediate layer of a substantially pure WC--Co composition, the innermost layer having a tungsten content falling to the value in the body interior and a binder phase and Group IVa and Group Va metal which increased progressively to the levels in the body interior.

The system may include one or more fixtures configured to pivot from a non-angled position to a single fixed angled position. According to exemplary embodiments, fixtures may be configured to secure a TO can type package while one or more components, such as photodetectors, are mounted to the TO can type package, for example, by bonding. The TO can type package may be a TO can laser package including a monitor photodetector or a TO can photodetector package. Of course, many alternatives, variations and modifications are possible without departing from this embodiment.

摘要： An optoelectronic device separation apparatus may include a first and second clamp members configured to grip coaxial portions of an optoelectronic device. In one embodiment, the clamp members grip a housing portion and a fiber pigtail portion, respectively. The clamp members are configured to rotate relative to each other about an axis that is generally coaxial with the axis of the coaxial portions of the optoelectronic device. A force may be applied to the clamp members to provide such rotation, thereby causing the coaxial portions of the optoelectronic device to separate, for example, along weld points coupling the portions of the optoelectronic device together. Of course, many alternatives, variations and modifications are possible without departing from this embodiment.
