摘要: Disclosed is a process for the preparation of a zeolite slurry being excellent in either the static stability or the dynamic stability and having a good flowability, which comprises neutralizing an aqueous cake or slurry containing water and zeolite in such a state that both are substantially inseparable from each other by filtration, with an inorganic or organic acid or an acid anydride or acidic salt thereof so that the pH value of the zeolite slurry at the time of completion of addition of said acid, acid anhydride or acidic salt is in the range of from 9.5 to 12 and the pH value of the zeolite slurry in the stationary state after addition of said acid, acid anhydride or acidic salt is in the range of from 11.3 to 12.7, adding a water-soluble or water-dispersible organic polymeric dispersant in an amount of at least 0.1% by weight based on the anhydrous zeolite to the neutralized zeolite slurry, and subjecting the resulting slurry to highly shearing stirring.

摘要: An orally administered adsorbent which, when orally administered to livestocks and men, is capable of effectively adsorbing and removing nitrogen-containing compounds such as creatinine and the like. The orally administered adsorbent comprises clay particles of a layered structure having a cation-exchange capacity of not smaller than 50 milliequivalent/100 g, wherein a suspension formed by dispersing the clay particles in the deionized water at a concentration of 5 (w/v)% has a pH (25° C.) of not larger than 7.0, and has a proton emission capacity EH calculated according to the following formula, EH=(B-A)×104 wherein A is a hydrogen ion concentration (g ions/L) of the above suspension, and B is a hydrogen ion concentration (g ions/L) of a suspension formed by dispersing the clay particles in a 1 wt% saline solution at a concentration of 5 (w/v)%, of not smaller than 0.5.

摘要: The amorphous silica has a large apparent specific gravity despite of its BET specific surface area of 200 to 500 m.sup.2 /g, has an oil absorption amount of as small as 50 to 120 ml/100 g, has an agglomeration degree (D1/D0=DA) defined by the ratio of silica elementary particle diameter D0 to primary particle diameter D1 of from 10 to 50, and has nearly a spherical particulate structure which is quite different from that of the conventional gelation method silica (DA=OO). The amorphous silica-type filler exhibits excellent properties in regard to handling, processability, dispersion property and abrasion-resistant property and, when added as, for example, an anti-blocking agent, makes it possible to obtain resin films having transparency and scratch-resistant property without fisheyes or voids. Owing to the above properties, the amorphous silica that is used as a filler for the heat-sensitive recording papers suppresses ground fogging, improves the image concentration, makes it possible to apply a highly viscous coating solution since the filler dispersed in an aqueous solution creates very small viscosity, and imparts excellent abrasion resistance to the apparatus during the step of coating.

摘要: Disclosed is a composite adsorbent consisting of a molded body of homogeneous mixture comprising powdery active carbon and hydrous alumina of the pseudoboehmite type. This composite adsorbent has high mechanical strength and abrasion resistance. This composite adsorbent is excellent in the capacity of adsorbing organic components such as gasoline, and the desorption of the adsorbed components can be easily accomplished at a high desorption ratio. These excellent capacities are retained even if the adsorption-desorption cycle is repeated. Accordingly, this composite adsorbent is especially valuable as the adsorbent for an automobile canister.
